If you are in any business where you create anything the company that you create for owns ur ass unless you go it ur own!

That ipod ur playing these songs on was created by some poor slobs that don't get a piece of every ipod purchase. Musicians need to know what they're getting into before they dive into the deep end.

@chillichomper Thanks for your rapid response! (dumbass?! = unnecessary) The point being made is that in order to stay on a label a band needs to register sales - pirated albums are not counted. Obviously merchandising and touring are the major sources of revenue for artists these days; however, this still does not mean stealing albums is correct. Simple equation: no record sales = no record label = no tours = no merchandise = no money = NO BAND.

Maybe even pirates can understand this.

@chillichomper musicians don't have a choice sometimes. You either sign or you don't simple as. If you don't sign you can't tour unless you have a nice stash of money to burn. Bands don't make much of touring but you're right, labels take almost everything. However, MW are now no longer on RR, you know why? Because the band didn't sell enough albums... could be the end of the band.
