My pet rabbit used to do that all the time in his cage, especially in the middle of the night. It made such a loud noise, it'd wake me up everytime! I wonder why he always did that...

The cat should be lucky the rabbit didnt attack! My old bunny Heidi used to sort out the cats that came into the yard!

After a while they would just sit up on the fence and watch - not game to come down.

You should still calm your rabbits... they can die from fear... toula quits when she sees me but i DO still give her a little rub down to make sure shes feeling okay. best to keep em stress free. :)

My rabbit thumps at weird noises and she'll keep going until i come into the room. I think she waits for me to show myself... prove that i'm alive and then she's good. I thought at first that she was scared so i'd cuddle her to calm her down but she doesnt seem to need that to stop the thumping... all i have to do is show myself to her and she quits. Shes a very protective rabbit.

My rabbits thump when they feel threatened, in the wild it is a warning to other rabbits to get in the den or warren.
