chevy is on the guitar and paul on the bass they play alot of newgrass stuff plx comment back

  • your like stupid good. once a person gets this good it's just plain stupid.

  • wow man

  • That's one nice banjo..

  • Interesting composition, great playing and great sound.

  • I know it's in D, but is just the fifth string tuned to A?

  • This guy is a fucking gangster...haha

  • What kind of recording device and mic do you use? I can't tell if it's the banjo sounding so good, or the recording equipment making is sound so good.

  • @Robin18us

Olympus digital camera in video mode. No extra sound just what the camera records.

  • I was some good pickin but the song was not complicated enough. Can you play something not so simple? (of course I'm kidding, that was the hardest damn tune I ever heard. )

  • This video would've been perfect if you had a STEELERS shirt on ;p. Great pickin'.

  • well thats some good pickin right their lol...

  • You make it look easy, but it isn't. You're one talented guy.

  • Cool stuff Steven!! Love that banjo. I'm sorry we didn't get to jam much last year at Winfield and it looks like I may miss this year, but the other Hogscalders should be there ready to swing. ;-)

  • I always had a prob with my black head on my stealth the bridge would fall at nothing killer tone on those though

  • if ur not playing in a band paul and chevy watson would like u to play with them

  • I play with Almost Famous in southeast Ohio.

  • Awesome!

  • That is some sick pickin dude.

  • all i have to say is... DAMN

  • SO I totally go to his school and he is a good friend of mine... =] Love you Steven

  • I don't hear anything about stealth banjo's any more. this sounds really good. this guy is

exceptional.. I hope you find a good band my friend. where can you get a stealth. are they lighter?

  • is banjo picking exactly like guitar finger picking or is it slightly different in some way? it seems the same from what i can see, other than the use of the picks...

  • No, not exactly. banjo is tuned different and there is a high note on top where the 6th string would be on a guitar it'd be like having another high E there except it's a g.

the mechanics are different but if you like manipulating your fingers.. banjo is fun. guitar is a good pre-requisite but not an absolute requirement. some people make the adjustment fine other can't at all. some banjo players can't play guitar, "crazy"

  • i know nothing about banjos but it seems to me that this kid is good

  • dam

  • Banjo harmonics? Holy fuck...

That was pretty damn good. I'm trying to adapt the banjo technique to 5-string bass. It might be a while before I'm this good though...

  • What kind of banjo is that? A five string with a G that goes to the top nut? I've never seen one of those...

It's not a tenor, I get that...but what the heck is it?

  • It's a Stealth

  • you're freaking insane!

  • Nice shirt, and playing man.

  • Dude u got the tabs for this? U gonna be in AR anytime soon? close to AR?

  • Dude ur Awesome!!! i dont like ur NFL team choice lol jk Some serious talent man!!!!

  • By the way, what kinda finger picks are you using in this video? Do u always use the same kinds? Thank you.

  • I think they're just dunlops, and my thumb pick is a blue nylon. Whatever works I guess!

  • Steven,

Mighty fine job of pickin'. You sure have a hold on that thar fancy bangee! I need to get an album of Scott Vestals...and one of those stealth banjos! I sure enjoyed the sound that came outta both your banjos, and what better of a beautiful atmosphere to play...

  • Great pickin'. You're getting a really nice tone out of that Stealth, too. Thanks for posting this.

  • wow sick banjo, no fifth string peghead!

  • Awesome and this is from a non-banjo picker....lol.

  • wow you rip hope to be able to play like that some day

  • that's great! you're really talented.

  • its a good thing to see young players playing like this...........it keeps me humble.

  • WOW!! Very good. Sounds almost identical to Vestal.

  • Very ggo job, nicely played Vestal tune.

What are the specifics of your Stealth banjo? It has a nice full tone, I maybe interested in purchasing one. Currently I have a '29 Gibson

  • Thanks.. Go to stealthbanjo com for more info on Scott's banjos. They are very nice.

  • good picken vestals tunes are tough to play

  • YOUR SCARY GOOD !!
