I have been a big fan of THE CAT since the early 70's, I saw him perform in New York and in Toronto at The El Mocambo!!! He was and is fantastic. Many thanks for allways being able to lift me up off the ground.
that's it - still now - after a long time. but still relations and feelings and cool musicians. i am still looking for a posted " confluence" - someone will do that!!!???
This was a great album and a very creative period of development for Gato. I was always very moved by this period of Gato.
I find it fascinating how Gato, being admittedly influenced by John Coltrane built a style of improvising based primarily on melody. A very refreshing approach!
Chuck Rainey on electric bass!

@Miperrodrago Bueno no es una mala versión- resulta ser el Gato. El sonido deja mucho que desear, es lo que he echado en falta.

This is from his live at montreaux album that I had years ago.
His Flying Dutchman stuff was fantastic, some of it (but nothing
from this album) was released on a "best of" cd a few years ago.
What could have been done if real jazz were popular!
Over the years he became a kind of Latin Stanley Turrentine,
but "Live In New York", and the "Chapters" albums were great, as
well as this one.
