  • do the shed a lot regularly? exept for these 2 times a year

  • Well, compared to the coat on my Old English Sheepdog that actually looks like a vacation!

  • I have a white Alaskan Malamute & he's starting to shed. It is a ton of fur, but they are great dogs.

  • filled 20 carrier bags this summer. and our Tana's only just turned 11 months... makes for good stuffing though :)

  • We have had a mal for about 4 months and love him. Yesterday we got his sister, whom the breeder still had and named her zoey. I just thought this was funny. So now we have Ringo and Zoey.

  • I still want one

    :)

  • The bottom floor of our house is currently covered with Malamute fur, despite having vacuumed only a few days ago.

  • Hmmmm.... Still want one. LOL

  • i heard they shed like 5 lbs of fur

  • Haha reminds me of my dog Barkley. He's a Schipperke, a much much smaller breed than the Malamute, but he's still got a lot of fur to brush.

  • Wow! I've been wanting a Mal for a LONG time. How long does it take you to brush out all her shed fur? Is it a one evening thing or something that you have to do over a week or a fortnight?

  • @Lunawolfy666- It takes at least 2 weeks for all the under coat to come out. Definitely not a one evening thing. You can do it every day and get the same amount out during those 2 weeks at the beginning of spring and fall.
