LOL, it is beautiful but NOT safe, trust me. That's why my parents and I moved literally across the ocean.. I miss it dearly though. These pictures, are just magnificent and they make me extremely depressed that I am not there smelling the beautiful mountains and driving extremely fast on taxis

I didn't know anything about this city until last sunday when I saw a documentary about Turkmenistan politics at basque TV channel ETB. The documentary shown Ashgabat urban development and monuments. I think it would be an interesting place to visit: different culture and religion, a lot of monuments and nice buildings, cleansless and apparent security...
