@BlameAuntJemima The Foregrip is on the M4, like it is in MW2. It comes with it by default, and is purely cosmetic. Using an underbarrel will replace the foregrip just like MW2, but it dosen't decrease recoil or accuracy in the slightest. All in all, other then a slight change in Iron Sights (which is improved, being less cluttered), the M4A1 is expected to perform the same way in MW3 as it does in MW2.

@MrYoungmarine yes it is. the m4 is the standard issue carbine of the us army. just because you play modern warfare doesn't mean you know everything about weapons. the m4 is semi and burst. the m4a1 is full auto and semi.

The M4A1 is a SEMI/FULL auto

Doesn't really look like a M4A1 or Carbine or a M16. It looks more like Barrett 6.8 It's basically the same thing. It strips like the M16's and M4's so it makes it easier for the troops to field strip it cause it's basically the same mechanism. But it has more damage, but keeps the same accuracy of them :)

this gun didnt appear in COD4 it was the M4 Carbine. 2 different weapons the M4A1 is a later varient of the weapon.

In my opinion there should be not that of a switch from automatic to burst or the other way around but an option that you can use to customize your weapon and give both options their advantages. I do agree though, a larger, more diverse arsenal would be nice.

@SageofWater1 Well, that is not correct. The M4 is an upgraded version of the M16, it's shorter, lighter and more compact, and can be adjusted in length to match your preferance. But besides that it's pretty similar, sharing caliber and the weapons are pretty similar in the construction as well. I apologize if my english is not 100% accurate

@VerryLongName The so called Commando in black ops is irl called Car-15 commando and its also made by colt. the m4 is a newer version of the car which includes rails and stuff. btw the commando in black ops isnt historically accurate cause it had the carrying handle like the m16. hope it cleared

I'd hate to sound anal, but in MW2 and in the MW3 campaign trailer, the M4A1 had an S-SYSTEM rail unit on it with an LE Stock. In this video, it has an RIS handguard, a Crane Stock, and a riser. Haha, good video anyway, just had to put it out there :p

the m4a1 looks alot different in mw2 as opposed to real life. look at the gun in the barracks. also use the ironsights, cus it should all around look about the same as the car-15/m16. same differences go for the commando (yes i know its the car-15) in black ops.

Nice videos. Just to point out a few things :

The M4A1 was seen used in the E3 footage and is indeed fully automatic.

The M4 had a fire rate of 850 RPM in CoD4 and 800 in MW2.
