This is fair trade resources in exchange for badly needed infrastructure projects. This is something that benefits the Congo and all of Africa. The Congos resources are finally being put to good use for the benefit of the nation and it's peoples. This is going on all through out Africa the West is in an uproar over Chinese investment in Africa. If it didn't benefit the continent nothing would have been said, but the western media will continue to slander China.

China is benevolent ?! They just have more money to burn. The deal signed says the Congolese SHALL buy all goods and services from China through Chinese firms based in Congo. China creates a stable Congo that can protect China's interests there and by profiting from goods sold back to the Congolese slaves they procure the Congo's raw materials on the cheap. China essentially colonizes & expands. U.S. military runs on oil - lots of it. You can't dominate without it. Congo gets used then dies.

At least you see it for yourself just how China is involved in Africa. They build large and costly infrastructures as a gesture to the Africans that their intentions are genuine. The Chinese engage with the African public and try to gain their respect while Western regimes only try to gain the respect of African regimes behind closed doors and it usually involves with cash stuffed in suitcases :D

surely the reason why westerners are so interested in chinese investment is they are worrying about losing their backyard, the resource they have drained for such a long time. they started so called fair trade try to show their sympathy after they used african as slaves for over one hundred years.

I dont think so. News is news cause it is for the masses, obviously all those who know something about investment do not listen to such BS.

The only problem of Westerners was that Chinese will become preferred creditors throughout this deal. Which means that from now on Chinese will benefit from better investment opportunities. AT THE SAME TIME: In case of economic crashes all these countries still turn to the west and the IMF for financial aid.

(The deal is pretty good btw)
