  • Of course the "Computer" has to leave the 2 ships that were there that day.

  • Your right, that IS your final answer. But I had no clue so I won't judge, just thought I'd make a joke.

  • for a split second there i thought mark was ready to go on a rampage

  • This clip looks sped up...

  • @RCPlanes59 GSN sped up the shows so they could air more commercials.

  • I think people need ot understand that not knowing this doesn't make you dumb. Hell, maybe he DID know it. There was someone on an international verison (Australia?) who knew the answer to the top prize question but panicked and said the wrong answer. It happens.

  • lol Watched all of these million dollar questions and I knew all of them. Can't believe they walked away or in this case failed hard. So glad this guy failed though, didn't like him within the 1 minute mark of this question and he didn't see Titanic.

  • LOL. THis guy should have studied his history more. The Californian was a military Navy Ship that failed to assist the Titanic and later became a big issue WORLDWIDE. THis guy is such a failure.

  • this guy is a cocky douchebag from the very get-go. like really? i normally don't wish losing on anyone, but he deserved it. i'm glad he lost.

  • He just lost $218,000

  • I was a contestant on the same show. (The clips are on my youtube page) All of us sitting in Contestants row knew the answer right off the bat. He and his wife were such pricks after the taping. Poor guy. LOL

  • he looks like a creep.

  • He looks like the kid actor in the 80s movie Problem child, all grown up

  • LoL ol Mark would have just spent it all on beer anyway

  • was Duchovny the next contestant? If so, that's $436,000 GONE in succession.

  • I remember watching this episode.

  • lol everyone on here always says they know they answer.

  • @OSHUNLIDE

In this case they may be right. This is very basic Titanic knowledge.

  • $32,000 is still way more than most contestants win on the show these days.

  • The Carpathia was the rescuer ship

    Tricky question

  • You wouldn't have gotten to this question in the first place.

  • wow i knew the answer to the question since I wuz 9 now im 13

  • Before even seeing the answers, I knew it was the Californian. I read a little book about it. Either it was that or I saw it in "A Night to Remember". Sorry if I seem arrogant, but this question was TOO easy.

  • Ouch, that sucks. At least he was a good sport about it.

  • FAIL

  • Regis didn't even seem to care about the guy. Meredith is a much better host, Regis always seemed so careless about the contestants.

  • Regis was serious business. Best host ever.

  • Why does the music go so fast?

  • To make it more dramatic.

  • @PlutoTheSecond because GSN wants to fit more commercials so they speed up the show.

  • Poor guy. :/

  • You're heart just has to go out to Mark it really really does.

  • Wow, I cant beleive it. Im 13 and that question is the only difficult question i could have answered, given the situation of choosing between those two... Carpathia rescued the Survivors... The film was great :D

  • I've known the answer to this question for years. If I was in the audience when this happened, I would be like, "Oh my god-NO. Don't say final answer".

  • holy shit he made it to 250,000 only using 1 life?

  • the carpathia was the boat that rescued the titanic survivors.. so immediately i knew that wasnt the answer.

  • wow I was so sure C was the right answer but it was a tricky question

  • just like last night

  • i remember i got an allergic reaction in school that day and i came downstairs and saw this

  • lol good story

  • MY FILM ADDICTION PAYS OFF! :D how terrible that he didnt know :L

  • gosh......idiot

  • Comment removed

  • What a typical American plastic host... He is awful!

  • how dare you say that about regis

  • Cocky bastard. I'm glad he lost.

  • Ouch!

  • What's funny is even if he saw the movie, it wouldn't have helped him because it completely ignores the Californian story! xD

  • This truly was difficult to watch.

  • bam

  • I remeber the $500,000 question i knew it bart's middle name was jojo (and so is every other simpson)

but i would have not gotten there because i would have missed maybe the 1,000 or $ 32,000 Q

  • I don't think anyone should feel too bad for him. He could've easily made a lot of money off of $32,000 if he was smart with the money and invested it. With some work, he could probably get that $218,000 back.

  • Wow i knew that!

  • It didn´t ignore them, it was becuase they´ve shut down their radio.

  • failed!

  • hahahahaha!!!!

  • Half a mill for that piece of shit? I knew that from fucking school.

  • Sometimes these abstract questions arent taught to everyone.

  • Did you learn this at a school that taught you how to have good sex? :D

  • Correct!

  • Rule of thumb on Millionaire: don't go with the obvious. Carpathia would seem to be the obvious answer since most people have heard of it.

  • That was simple. What the fuck.

  • Well, Mark also has his total Jeopardy! winnings of $52,880.

  • What a joke of a $500,000 question. That should've been maybe a $32,000 question at the most.

  • no joke

  • I saw this happen in person. I could watch this a million times. What a dumbass!! :)

  • I love the silence after he is told that it's the wrong answer.. "ohhhhh shit, are you serious i got it wrong?"

  • hahah!!

  • Poor man

  • I'd like to see a clip of Lawrence Caplan missing his $500,000 question. The unfortunate thing about him is that he was going to walk away at first but then went for the wrong answer.

  • Has anyone ever missed the million dollar question?

  • Nevermind, I checked that list and there wasn't anyone on it who had.

  • I think it's because people are scared to death of losing $468,000-$475,000. Nobody answers unless they're 99.99% sure. Also, a different tune plays if you get Q15 wrong.

  • It's happened in other parts of the world. One you can find is the Russian version where a woman was asked who received the first Nobel Prize in Literature.

  • Also, look up the japanese version. There has been several contestants going all the way to 10 million yen and losing it all!

Yet, they make it seem so hilarious, but that's Japan for you.

  • Well, they are already rich, so that's like pennies for them lol

  • You'll also be happy to know, whenever they lose, you get to hear the funniest thing ever in Millionaire...

    "Zannen!!!"

  • there was a celebrity episode where someone missed a question but apparently te question was an error, and none of the answers were right. so the celebrity couple took the money on their second chance

  • What is the Internet for?

Ok maybe back in 2000 theres no "real" internet, but how about books and TV? I've watched TV shows about titanic and read books and stories of it when I was in 7th grade. How come he could miss this?

  • there was internet in 2000 but it didnt have the website like wikipedia etc that we take for granted nowadays

  • my god thats easy

  • shut up lol

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe not. Kati got all huffy about it afterwards, as if she'd been robbed, but she admitted she could be wrong when she made the guess, and she came on the show with absolutely no plans of stopping, knowing how hard it was to win. If you do not stop, you risk this happening!

  • What I meant is that all the time that Kati took up on the show could've been used to allow the other contestants to play. And it all ended in vain.

  • I don't think he was cocky, I just think that he was way too confident. I'd make a phone call if I didn't know that question. I bet that most people who've seen that movie know that Carpathia picked up the survivors, so Carpathia couldn't ignore Titanic's SOS signals. I mean, he could've walked away with at least 500,000.

  • Comment removed

  • That was the easiest question of all time. Come on now, Carpathia was the one who picked up the survivors. Man, I'd be embarrased to miss that.

  • He should've phone one of his friend for the answer, then he could see the 1 million question.

  • When i first saw the answers i KNEW it wasnt carpathia.

  • I was born by the time he appeared on "Jeopardy!"

  • Comment removed

  • man that was a tough question. i just wish he didn't act so confident/cocky because it's a real downer when they get it wrong.

  • i thought he was right -_-' tricky question

  • funny how that guy wanted to talk more and Regis tells the guy " you go out THAT way.." and the guy IMMEDIATELY turns and stops what he was saying..

    LOL!!! PWNED!!!

  • It wasnt the hardest question, the difficulty was about at the 64 thousand mark, but it was a good try.

  • Now who has the moment where Ava Johnson answers the $500,000 question question INcorrectly and lose $225,000 and want to upload it?

  • DUMB FUCK

  • californian u idiot

  • that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks. that sucks.

    ahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha

  • Have he watched the movie...

  • I knew the answer the entire time! The Carpathia picked up the stranded, but surviving Titanic passengers, but that obviously was not the correct answer in this question. I learned the answer when I was young, and quite honestly, I was in shock of this moment.

  • Did you really know the answer !! Your good, i bet you can comb your hair really fast as well.

  • I truly did know it. I read the children's book on Titanic way too many times, and it was in a story in my first high school English book, I believe.

I'm very happy to have learned of it well.

  • hahhaha man if i was in the crowd i wouldve busted out laughing to break the silence and cause its fuckin hillarious hahahahhahaha

  • has someone missed a million dollor question?

  • Nobody here in the US has ever missed the final question. And he still had his Phone-a-Friend, my guess was he wanted to save that for the last question.

  • hes like im happy in his mind hes like DAMN IT!!!

  • lol

  • I know all of the others' questions except for Richard Klimkiewicz. What was the question that he missed?

  • @EricAKATheBelgianGuy Don't remember, but the answer was John Denver.

  • Comment removed

  • IDIOT!!!! carpathia was the ship that saved them. See the movie you dumbass

  • Or just know shit. it was the californian, and I haven't seen the movie.

  • Seeing the movie wouldn't have helped in the question, haha....

The Californian was the one that was something like 20 miles away from the Titanic, did see the signals (flare signals), but did not respond.

The Carpathian didn't even come onto the scene until roughly an hour and half AFTER the Titanic sank.

  • Idiot. If he read about it, he would have know that the Carpathia picked up the survivors.

  • Yep. The other ships did not exist.

  • y is the music being played at a faster pace??????

  • GSN speeds up the episodes so they can air more commercials

  • The guy on X-files missed a question like this (as I think is mentioned above.)

Why is the music being played at such a faster pace?

  • David Duchovny is his name. And his question was a little bizarre, because he claims that with different punctuation, he would have had the right answer.

  • I learned this in 4th grade

  • Heads up, everyone! It looks like GSN will air the second part of Kati Knudsen's run, so we will get to see her heartbreaking $500,000 miss. Hope somebody records it and posts it soon!

  • shcks

  • Should've seen the movie man... Those 3 hours would have really been well spent, wouldn't they? AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • Just out of curiousity, but has anyone missed the $1,000,000 question on Millionaire yet?

  • not in the US. But it happened in Russia once and india twice. I have the russian clip with subtitles in my videos

  • it has also happened one time in Bulgaria, and one time in Holland

  • Where is that clip? I couldn't find it.

  • Well not really, but I know what you mean. Llama means they win nothing.

  • The host was a bit blunt, don't you think? "Mark that's the wrong answer. Well, that's the game. Go out that way"

In the UK the first time this happened, it was a devastating moment and the host dramatised it quite a lot.

  • I'll take that back, I think he actually said something like "Sorry to see you go out that way". Never mind.

  • Man that sucks a lot. I thought it was Carpathia too.

  • Sashinator00 got suspended :( I wonder why? He had so many millionaire vids. too bad.

  • Every1 should know the Carpathia picked up Titanic passengers.

  • I wish someone upload Kati Knudsen's heartbreaking $500,000 loss.

  • Comment removed

  • I was at the taping of this show, since I was in the hotseat later that episode. ALL of us in "Contestant's Row" knew the answer to this. Mark and his wife were basically in hiding the rest of the night there. They were so bummed out. LOL

  • i sometimes thought regis knew the answers to most of the questoins, but just says he doesn't to make the contstants more comfertable

  • Anyyone lost $468,000?

  • Comment removed

  • i did some research and found out that as of now, nobody has got the final question wrong yet. but this one i saw at the beginning of November, this girl asked the audience on the million dollar question, and she walked and saw the answer the audience voted for was wrong the highest vote was only 48% so i don't blame her

  • I learned that in 3rd grade.

  • GSN speeds up parts of episodes because of long commercial breaks.

  • Get Nancy Christy Dave Goodman And Kim Hunt

  • that was probably the easiest $500,000 in the history of this show. he seemed like an arrogant prick anyway.....

  • i noe i didnt like how he look at regis when he said his answer

  • its easy to say you could have done it when you arent on tv and nobody can see you and you can easily show your e-peen over some comments on youtube right?

  • Pfft I knew the answer, its basic Titanic knowledge. I could've won 500,000! :z

  • Good for you.

  • Yep. People are stupid.

  • Ugh, looser. It's of course the SS Californian. How could the RMS Carpathia see RMS Titanic? They were four hours south from there. SS Californian was just a couple of miles away.

  • he seems like a smartass know-it-all

  • I've met him before. He -is- a smartass know-it-all. I was never happier to see a Millionaire contestant flame out than with him.

  • really...i can def believe that. how did u meet him?

  • He used to live (still might for all I know) in Sayre, PA near where I grew up...we used to play against him in team trivia contests and he was a pompous ass. The whole kicker was that he wasn't even that great of a trivia player...our team would beat his just as much as his would beat ours, and we had fewer players on our team.
