Breath of Fire IV - True Ending

What happened to Fou-Lu? He just die? He does not seem to be a part of Ryu anymore since Ryu's hair is back to normal... Or is it because Ryu gave up godhood? Then again it could have been just a temporary thing but I don't like Ryu returning to how he was =/

If IV is really the first then this is where the dragon clans started... Gotta wonder what's the deal with the opposing clans though. Great more questions I know.

But in this way, so unexpected, I kept thinking something was still up...

For me, Yuna is one of videogames greatest villains. He's a sneak, kidnaps your sister, gets you court-prosecuted in your own country, rips your sister apart and fills her with animal guts and machinery, transforming her into a weapon which he then uses to decimate her own country, laughs about it, tricks the Emperor into getting killed by Fou-Lu, tortures and kills Fou-Lu's girlfriend then fires her tortured remains at him, and to top it all off, gets away with it.

you know what i realized? they do wrap up the game....but they leave their world in turmoil.....there are still problems needing to be resolved......but they wont since Breath of Fire is essentially dead...

@darkgryffon Well, Breath Of Fire 4 was supposed to be the prequel to Breath Of Fire 1, 2 and 3 so naturally their world needs to be sort of screwed up. All the Dragon gods get co-opted into Ladon(the Dragon God in 1-3)

@darkgryffon Dragon brood stay alive for a very very long time. Ryu in IV sort of just became immortal after a long while or maybe he died, ascended to godhood and became Ladon, but only after being the ancestor for pretty much the entire brood.

@darkgryffon In BoF1 and BoF2 there were 2 different Ryus, Ladon and Ryu. The "Ryu" in BoF3 could be Ladon himself or an incarnation of him.

I actually love this ending. You see guys, the villain sometimes just have to live... That's how realism works. It may suck, but it gives your story a whole new level.

I agree with you about Breath of Fire 6.

Breath of Fire 4's endings prevent me from playing Breath of Fire 5 (how sad .....). I play through Breath of Fire 1 and 2, I still can accept both ending although the ending is a little bit tragic. I do not know about Breath of Fire 3, but Breath of Fire 4's ending is worse. Somehow I still consider Breath of Fire 4 is awesome at the gameplay (not the ending of course). Let's us hope about Breath of Fire 6.

I finally saw the ending of BOF4 and BOF5. I couldn't beat the final bosses in either game, and after so many years, I realized that I can see the endings here on you tube :D All in all, BOF4 was the best damn RPG I had ever played, alongside Chrono Cross, Alundra 2, and FFVII

There are 2 endings to this actually. This is what happens when you defeat Fou lu with the party. If you choose to join up with Fou lu, you get to fight Nina and the rest and when you defeat the gang, it would result in a game over.

legendary game, so emotional and full of adventure, shows that graphics aren't as important as a great story when it comes to rpg's, pity this is the last of it's kind. BOF3 was great too. try dragon quest jorney of the cursed king for ps2 another fantastic rpg and final fantasy 7.

I've been looking for it so much, and i cant find it. I know you can still play after you beat it, if it offers you to save. Then you can go somewhere and find Rei and Teepo as shop owners. They sell you a rusty sword, wich is crap until you get 100 kills. Is this after the game or near the end?

In the end - Fou Lu is called for nothing - Deis didn't get outta that armor, the gods get all gone Elina dies ... Marlok don't became poor ... Yuna DON'T pay for what he've done .....

Damn it is almost as if nothing had to happen at all,

And Scias don't say A DAMN WORD in the whole ending

It's not really a weak storyline just because of those plot points, they're not exactly unresolved issues with the story, they're all just unexpected events which I say makes it unique and fun unlike most other cliche RPG plots out there.

they're virtually doing the same thing over and over again just twisting up the story a bit. To me honestly BoF V was retarded compared to all the other BoF games so I don't really recommend it unless you want to try something different. BoF is like Final Fantasy in a sense that you have main characteristics like in FF you have a main character who usually has a sword and falls in love but BoF has Ryu, Nina and typically a cat like character

Ryu4's "immortal" half may have eventually become known as Ladon and that's how the Dragon Clan/Brood were created

Breath of Fire 4 was OK... Wasn't great; I hated how the dragons looked like shit.

BOF 2 and 3 was the best; how in 2 you can change your characters by combining shamans and 3 how your characters change as they grow up.

And Dragon Quarter was a FAILURE... They killed it by trying to make it 3D.

Signature BOF includes: "Ryu" Dragon boi with blue hair, "Nina" with wings, a Cat-like character, and "Blue" from the same-era as the dragons.

I'm new to this game so I have a few questions in my mind:

First, did Fou-Lu die or did he become a god and get casted out?

Second, why were the gods cast out? They didn't do anything bad, did they?

Third, what's the point of casting out the gods when this Yuna can make more?

Fourth, how Ryu cast all the gods out? One dragon vs many dragons, it doesn't make sense.

Alright, I'll tell you since I know the story very well.

1.He merged into Ryu if you saw the scene very closely.

2.Most likely to bring the world into better peace.

3.Good question on that one since I forgot why the crew did not destroyed her. If that never happen then there wouldn't be another BoF game?

4.Ryu is the most powerful and chosen one out of them all if you knew the story.

Overall this game takes place before BoF1, and I hope these answers were helpful.
