  • aww man, I had a blue one =( I sadly lost it though =/

  • i had that thing growing up but then i lost it when moving into my new house 8years ago and now i miss it.

  • quanto vc pagou nele

  • I love Pokemon and all the "mini stuff" by nintendo

  • These were released in Australia, so it would have been in Europe

  • @ProtosMerkabah That's like saying since the Wii Port of Pikmin 2 was released in Australia its in America, but it isn't.

  • @Brad64LP Not necessarily for that time. Back during the N64 era, generally there were heaps of games that never came out in Europe/Australia that did in the US. It has only really been in the last generation that this trend has been opposite, with the recent Xenoblade Chronicles controversy, yes, I have been following that. BUT Back then, Nintendo did release everything that was in Europe in America.

  • i Had 1 of these and it was pretty fun

  • wow I never knew this thing existed.

  • pokewalker is much smaller handheld

  • What's next? Roblox Mini?

  • if you dont use it anymore... could i have it pleese? for 10$? i am only nin, so i don't have much money so wadaya say?

  • Where do you get them? I never see them anywhere.

  • i had one of these & it played pokemon yellow

  • it made it in europe on March 15, 2002

  • how much was this when it came out? and did it only have that one cartdridge?

  • yeah! AAA batery!

  • I would say that the graphics look a lot better then the digi pets games from the 90's

  • can i buy one? I think i can't :(

  • *puzzle collection

  • I'm selling one of these on eBay, it's the blue one with 3 games: pokemon party, pokemon pinball and pokemon puzzle league. Search seller:batsinthecave and have a look.

  • @VengefulCookie kool for how much? is the screen scratched

  • "get your mind outta the gutter"

    he read my mind XD

  • When he started talking I got scared because he said "HEY GUYS HOW IS IT GOING" while I wasn't looking

  • It has a vibrator...lolz

  • Aaah...

    This little thing was awesome.

I remember playing it at the Pokemon Center and immediately wanting to buy one.

  • ugg... this is the reason i dont buy that thing in 2001, that D-pad is tiny as shit >_<

but the games are pretty good.

  • Thanks for this video! I never knew there was a Pokemon Mini Hanheld gaming system.

  • It was released in europe, i remember seeing it HMV.

  • I probably would not have noticed these back when they were first released but I thought them having their own cartridges was a great idea. i never owned any of those digital pet things though.

  • Pokemon mini > Pokewalker

  • today its the pokewalker

  • @SUPOJosh Pokewalker kinda sucks though...compared to the Pokemon Mini, I have both and I prefer the mini

  • toda its the pokewalker

  • The funny thing is, an emulator for this machine came out on the Dreamcast reciently, and you can play all the roms ever released for this little system all on 1 disc. What I really wish they did was make an emulator of this system for my Sega Dreamcast Visual Memory Unit!

Anyway, glad you showed the kids here the VMU next to this, pretty awesome seeing them together.

  • do you have the rest of the cartiges?

  • yeah its in europe and australia

  • just got one of these today theyre great

  • why no real pokemon games for this its wicked xD

  • I got one for Christmas back when it was "current". I should play it again (I am certain it still works) and see what I think of it now. I remember the pinball game for it was really fun.

  • remember i had something like that but it was black and more rounded and it had the time and date and when you shook it pikachu would wake up what the hell was the name of that again?

  • Where can i find that??Please answer me!I want this so much!

  • what do you think's better? that or pokewalker?

  • @Mrgyn it means he has a big cock

  • The PokeWalker had less options...

  • i used to have this it was awesome

  • i have the blue version with 2 games, pokémon party and

mokémon pinball. any collectors who are interested??

  • wow my friend has this and he threw it away lol

  • FALCON PAWNCH!!!!!

  • i have this and i live in the u.k i got it on release for £40

  • Oh god I remember this. I had one at school. It was the only game system to get me told off by my parents and teachers. Parents cos they wouldn't buy me one so I got my grandparents to and I played it in school so the teacher took it off me. Good times

  • I love the sound on it!

  • be careful?

  • damn. i remember the commercials for these lol. never really considered it an actual system. i thoght it came with pre-loaded games.

  • Clearly a robust set of intricate and complex games. Earthbound? Pfft. Final Fantasy? Don't make me laugh. Chance's Dribble? Dayum.

  • I had at least five of these handhelds and plenty of games for it when I was younger, 20-50 bucks? Wow, should have kept it.

I treated my stuff terribly back then, I was only about 6.

  • wow when i had ithis i played all they much more then the gameboy actually

  • I knew of it, but I never had one

  • I have one with purple buttons, now I just need to find it

  • can your review the gamecube?its really underrated

  • @TwistedN Not as much as the dreamcast,however...

  • @TwistedN Gamecube? What's that? Must be really rare!

  • Hey Gamester81, You should review the leapfrog leapster. i still have the oringal model and it still works

  • Hey Gamester do you know if this rare cause I acutually own one.

  • Hi gamster81 you should sign up for playfire.com to show off your collection if you already have a account what is it & ill add you

  • Comment removed

  • Do wants

  • Good One.

  • Reminds me of the Digimon handheld pets released a while back.

  • The Wii was released in America before Japan.

  • @DisasterPiece0302

I hope the 3ds is too.

  • Like if you have a Pokemon Mini

  • wow, it's so crappy but I kind of want one

  • I tend to avoid all things Pokimon, but I enjoyed the review as always.

  • Hey Gamester. I went to Bookmans the other day and found a ps1 in the glass case for 20 bucks, and the Pokemon Mini? 35 BUCKS! I went home because I only had 25 bucks store credit and got the PS1. Went back the next morning with stuff to trade, Everything but a Sega Saturn boxed was there. I guess they restocked! I was disappointed, but I walked out with about 40 bucks store credit by selling a boxed Gamecube.

  • @SuperSonicTailsEas wow i got a psone for $20 as well,cool

  • @SuperSonicTailsEas lucky i went to a FXGames in a mall got 10 bucks for a gamecube with all the wires man if i knew you got more money with it boxed i would've got 30 bucks more. and i had a better one so i didn't just lose a really good system

  • I remember these babies! Freaking sick lol, I remember when I first saw one and a kid had one saying I GOT A MINI GAMEBOY haha, I was shocked when I saw him walking n put in a cartridge. I've been looking for this handheld for AWHILE. Great to see you always find the rares easily Gamester! Keep up the vids, lovin the collection

  • Hey John, nice review of this rare little gem. Nice to see you have one in the box! I was playing my Dreamcast last night, and I agree with you, the VMU is very close to the same design. Nintendo was greatly influenced!

  • hey gamester i have one of those before it was released in North America, well before Canada got it lol... i got it from Germany, um i got 3 games if i can remember and find them one of which was my favourite and was pokemon pinball and some pickcu and another lol well if i can find it ill make a video and add it as a reply to this lol

  • Where did you get yours?

  • I agree - the VMU is def. much cooler :-)

  • this thing is really stupid, i prefer the game and watch.

  • Ah man, I've always wanted one of these. They look just so cool. You can play a lot of those games in Pokemon Channel.

I wouldn't really say that the Mini got inspiration from the VMU, personally. It's just a small gameboy and I feel it is more of an extension of the Pokemon Pikachu, which may have been released before the dreamcast. I'm not too sure.

  • This was released in europe but in the shadow of the GBA and wasn't very popluar and the only games i think i ever saw was some puzzle game and a pinball game.

  • There was a successor to this that was in colour, but only released in Japan, I believe. I saw this in one of the old EGM Import Report blurbs, I have the magazine somewhere.

  • lol i bet everyone thought about a sex toy vibrator neat little hand held anyway

  • It retailed for $29.95

  • I remember having a pikachu thin that you could take care of it, i do not remember if i liked it lol :P

  • I remember the playable pokemon mini demo things in pokemon channel, but I never knew it was real

  • that's the most annoying device I've ever seen.

  • you seemed to be whispering someone sleeping?

  • Looks like they're quite cheap here in Britain, sell for about £6 to £20

  • Its actually pretty cool when you show it like that, infra red, carts, nifty rumble sensor, cute little bleeps

  • Interesting. This DID go under the radar. Nice review.

  • I know there were a few Pokemon handheld tos around, I believe there once was some kind of Pikachu Tamagochi type thing out there one, but I've not seen this one before, it probably got overshadowed by the GameBoy Advance which also came out in 2001.

  • To all the female fans, if John says he got frickin' huge hands. You know what that means :P

  • @Almalexia88

    He wears huge gloves?

  • @ZombieXJester lol

    at your innocence

  • @Almalexia88 well those too realkly have nothing to do with each other, i should knopw because i have big hands :'(

  • @pikachu7567

    haha good one :P

  • @Almalexia88 huge gloves?

  • @Almalexia88 Big Gloves ?

  • @Almalexia88 Yeah man! Huge gloves!

  • @Almalexia88 females watch this where who

  • @Almalexia88 He wears large gloves.

  • And maybe the lock on it was to prevent those pesky kids from ripping out your cartridge while you are playing! I thought that was a pretty obvious answer. XD

  • Hooray! I guess you weren't lying when you said you would take a closer look at it on the stream. XD Though I never thought you were really... Awesome!

  • Great video! I've never played a Pokemon game in my life, but those games actually look pretty cool! Neat little hand held system.

  • i used to have one of those

  • God job, btw I like the lighting.

  • get better lighting, please

  • That is a bizarre handheld - and yeah, the sound is incredibly annoying. haha

  • you should review the gameboy micro : )

  • I really want one of these back.

  • Did Anyone But Me Have A Lil Chuckle When He Was Like Punch Punch Punch Punch

  • Iv'e wanted one of these and a pikachu 2 for a while. Just they cost so much to import!

  • i had one back when they came out.

  • I have 1 of those!

  • Neat, but the sound is dreadful.

  • I think I remember seeing commercials for this in 2001.

  • very cool i might to invest in one of these bad boys just for a collective aspect cheers bro huge thumbs up !!!!

  • I still have mine it I got it with a pokemon game for the gamecube I think it was Pokemon Channel but I still have mine same as yours a green one.

  • I could never stand pokemon lol, I am still the proud owner of NO pokemon related stuff lol :o) Nice to see this though :o) At 50-100 dollars, it will be something I still have no intention of owning lol.;

  • I still have mine! Just like that one, brings back memories...

  • Looks like primitive cell phone games.

  • lol i saw it in animal crossing

  • Nifty little gaming device. But the sound is too annoying. Is it possible to turn off the sound?

  • I have one of these and entire North American library. Cool little handheld and great review John!

  • I thought you said it had a built in cock

  • Did you buy that for your wife so she could have something to play with when you were gone?

  • That is damn expensive in the US, here in Portugal I see a lot of those in auctions sites for 5 to 10€ brand new.

  • thanks ..i dont know jack squat about pokemon but i still love your vids! dig the t-shirt!

  • I Must get this eletronic device.

  • @rescuehero942 You talk like a robot. And you don't capitalize must.

  • is it smaller than the mini classic?

  • I brought that on eBay for 2 bucks which is pretty cool

  • ohyeah i had one of those! it was a charmander version XD

  • THE SOUND IS ANNOYING lol

  • And also, we did get the Gamecube a month later in Europe, so yeah, it was pretty much doomed from the start sadly.

  • They were released in Europe. I got one for release day and it was £34.99, plus £9.99 for the games, in April 2002. In the UK, we only got 3 games, plus the one that came with the handheld, but Germany got a Pokemon Tetris game, which is EXTREMELY rare, we're talking like rarely ever showing on ebay and goes for £100 alone! Japan did get several other games we never got, but I've never seen them on ebay like ever. The handheld also came in Blue and Purple. ;)

    Great review! An interesting choice

  • i just saw the ending of death note and i just cant watch this :(

  • @jj2997 Death Note Rox

  • I could have sworn i saw a limited edition pikachu version of this when i was in portugal. It was all yellow with a decal on it.

  • they shouldve released cheaper versions in happy meals like they did with sonic.

  • i remember them in england, dont remember when they released

  • Hey Gamester81 I'm making a video kinda simmilar to this video it's about the VMU for the Dreamcast.

  • I love the small inter changeable carts, i have the wooper blue but i never knew about it until i found it at a car boot last year. great video John.

  • can you get that ring of ur finger?? it looks pretty stuck :P

  • This thing was wonderful ^_^

  • It was indeed released in Europe.

  • Wow. I'm surprised it didn't get popular as it should have been. I can easily see Mario Mini and Pac-Man Mini handhelds if it gotten popular. Oh well....

You should do a review on the VMU's and/or the PSPGo next.

  • @595moore Agreed.

  • i prefer the VMU because of its variety of games plus all the homebrews coming out now. :)

  • Great video John! :)

  • Yeah it was released in Europe!

  • i dont know how to play half my tamagochi games LOLZ

  • i need to try a pokemon game some day.

  • I loved my pokemon mini., though the card game was the only good one.

  • Cool but yeah, weird. Too bad those couldn't be hooked up to a console like the VMUs could.

  • cool review

  • I never even heard of these oO

    Really interesting, though.

  • I cant see the screen... I guess I have to wait for the video to render...

  • epic

  • never even knew this existed

  • dam i did not know that came out ....

  • this brings back memories

  • i had one....

  • I used to have these! I loved them! Also could you check out my first 2 vids and tell me what you think :)
