The visual joke in this sequence is that this guest resembles to a startling degree the premier of the Soviet Union who at the time toured the USA on an official state visit. This contestant came from -- brace yourself -- New Jersey, so the comic potential is double and triple the fun. The contestant worked as a warden. For a smart comic like Groucho, the comic potential proved limitless.

For this 1959 appearance, the director kept the camera on Groucho and much as possible and kept his microphone hot the entire time in hopes of capturing every delightful moment. Groucho did not let him down as illustrated by this classic question.
