Try running all of your instruments through a little powered mixer before the loop station (Mic and guitar at least, but depending on how many channels you have on the mixer, you could go buck wild!). You should be able to get better fidelity on your loops (especially the percussion stuff), so that your loops sound identical to your live guitar playing. Then you can loop your vocals too...harmonies, beatboxing, whatever... Keep it up dude, good stuff.
@kamali42388 i appreciate the real, constructive feedback - i'm steady learning, and working out the tones. even when i made this vid, 3 years ago, i was aware that they were sketchy - i'm playing through an old mixer, through 1 12" speaker, recorded directly to a point and shoot video camera - now i have a much better rig, and a usb device for multitracking. thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.
Hey man, I found this via youtube's recommendations, I love paul simon and I do loop pedal videos as well (with the same pedal). Crazy how youtube can put two and two together. Keep up the good work.
hey, i don't recall ever having that problem with the pedal - i rarely add more than 3, maybe 4 loops at a time though. and this pedal is the 20XL, i don't know much about it's predecessor but it's possible if you had an earlier version BOSS may have addressed the issue.
Very nice ! I've used an RC20 before and have always had trouble with the tempo speeding up as more loops are added. Have you ever had that type of problem ?
ok, mahalo again jamojal for answering me questions, just what i needed to know, will be getting one of the rc-20 models with two channel option.....happy tunes, forest
Mahalo jamojal......Ya, that helps a lot, just one more question, can one use the mic with a plug in instrument (guitar, etc.) with the rci-20 at the same time and have them both included in the looping process????...mahalo and aloha, forest
Yes you can use them at the same time forest, and they have separate volume controls. I have found the best way to do that is to get a microphone or mic cable with an on/off switch so you can get the volumes balanced and then just turn the mic on or off when you want it to be part of the loop...
hey, paul simon, i love his tunes and style....any idea on the advantages of the rc-20 over the rc-2????...wanna get one, but not sure what the difference is, other than price....mahalo, forest
ya - the RC-2 is smaller (just single pedal size) and it is my understanding that all it lacks is the microphone input found on the RC-20. I don't really use the mic input (i have buddies who loop their vocals or percussion like shakers, etc... into a microphone)... so if I was in the market for a new one I would probably go with the RC-2. But if you think you might want or need the mic, check out the Rc-20. hope that helps Forest.
Hey man, got your message on my roadrunner email, but my computer is acting up. My messages aren`t going to youtube cause of a hacker. Anyway, I really like the way you jam out with your looper pedal. You do a great job. I got myself a Boss rc-2 and I love it. Who needs a band, right, right !!!!!!! Rock on my friend, you`re great !!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah man - the loop pedal is definitely sweet, and that RC-2 looks great. it would be nice to have the extra space back in my pedal board. thanks for the kind words and keep turning out the videos yourself Coffee - good jams and tasty selections.
hey Billbo, thanks for listening... i'm just playing G to C, both barred at the 3rd fret (E-form to A-form barre shapes). the simple noted bass line type progression i looped first is G, Octave, D twice - then C, Octave, G twice. mostly everything is happening on the 3rd and 5th fret. hope that makes sense.
