The Rocket 3 produces more torque at idle than a Honda FireBlade at its 8,500rpm peak!

Yes. Without power/torque restriction in low gears rocket 3 would beat yamaha r1 in acceleration. Because without low gear power restriction rocket 3 has been proven to burnout on 70-80kmh speed and rocket 3 doesnt have wheelie problem. R1 wheelies easily.

Heard one these today at a triumph garage. Scared the crap out of my little brother when it was fired up, and when I sat on it, he said it made me look small (I'm 6'4)! It's so HEAVY though, but beautiful, just like most triumphs as I found out today :D

You don't get the bass on Youtube. Much better IRL. But the stock pipes made my bonnie so quiet the mechanical noises from the engine were almost louder. Must be a Triumph marketing ploy to sell the bigger pipes :)

First, make sure you have a sub-woofer connected to your PC. There is not such a big compromise on sound as picture here on YouTube. Then I can probably see where you're coming from having heard plenty of nice V-twins. However, in this segment the Rocket III is very special with its big triple engine and enormous performance. Nothing economy about the performance and feel of this bike! But I sort of agree about the engine noise (not to be confused with the exhaust note).

The guy on the video is referring to both of the bikes combined hence 6 cylinders and 300BHP cos one has federal spec pipes.
