I was sailing my AI in various wind conditions, but it never felt unsafe or close to capsizing. That having said, I guess you don't want to stress the boat to much (e.g. at close hauled).
Exchanging the rudder pins is easy, even when you are on the water. I always have spare pins with me. I would get the tramps as well, as they add a lot of space and reduce the spraying significantly.
This is a awesome toy and you will never want to give it away once you will own one! ;)
The wind was maybe 17 mph, but I didn't have the sail even out completly. You can have a dodger for the AI, however I prefer to wear water-resitant pans and jacket.
I can't wait to get one of these amazing boats. I love Hobie's line, but this is my favorite. I'm courious, what song is this? It's catchy and I think it really makes the vid come alive.
Awesome!

Yeah, it's my all-time favorite toy! The song is called "name of the game" from "the crystal method".

pretty awesome man, how well does it sail upwind? do you ever have issues with the rudder not being able to keep it on course?
thefrozenhawaiian 3 years ago
Thats how Polynesians did it in Pacific, the trimaran is at least 4000 years old concept, the fastest sailing boat.

great sense of speed. Do you track speed w/ GPS?

Yes, I use a lowrance expedition.

Awesome Video! I want a Hobie bad... Is the Adventure Series easy to fish off and maneuver if you get one hooked up?
justbkoz123 4 years ago
it's great to fish. In fact trolling behind the AI is killer since you don't have any engine noise, which might spook the fish.
