must be something about tropical climates. outdoor xmas decorating is like a national pastime in my neighborhood surrounding moon valley cc in north phoenix. the neighborhood association even gives out awards called 'the 12 homes of christmas.' never was like this in boston where i grew up or new hamphire where i went to school.

Its because alot of them are snowbirds down from the north and that is there way of being home!!

OMG..i am from germany..and we havn't that much of lights on the streets..i think its "KITSCHIG"!!!

It's got to be more pleasant putting up (and taking down)lights in the south with the warm temps and lack of ice and snow than up here in Vermont!
