Its because alot of them are snowbirds down from the north and that is there way of being home!!

It's got to be more pleasant putting up (and taking down)lights in the south with the warm temps and lack of ice and snow than up here in Vermont!

I arrived in Daytona Beach in March of 1972 ... I was totally amazed with "lights on palm trees" ... Thanks for bringing back some memories of my first year in Florida .... you captured "Christmas in Florida" ....

must be something about tropical climates. outdoor xmas decorating is like a national pastime in my neighborhood surrounding moon valley cc in north phoenix. the neighborhood association even gives out awards called 'the 12 homes of christmas.' never was like this in boston where i grew up or new hamphire where i went to school.
