Was wondering if you might have a review on a FEG Mark 2 AP22, with disassembly video. I've always left the cleaning and maintenance to my husband? I used one of your videos to disassemble our CZ 75 B 9mm and reassemble. Love your videos, lots of great info.
A well placed .22 round is all you need for a take down..two in the heart one in the head was the way I was trained, .22 or .45 he isn't moving after that.
I bought a P22 a while back and have had nothing but trouble out of it. It feed like crap for me and kept jamming. It went away after putting a few hundred rounds through it but the mag started sticking after that. If you look on the bottom of your housing on breakdown it wears and shaves metal.
Would you recommend this as a first pistol for a rifle owner looking to buy their first handgun? Looking for something more "real" than a Ruger 22/45, on which the training would be compatible with full-power pistols like the P99 or SA XDm. Thanks!
@GabeMacDonnell Another option I've considered is the EAA Witness polymer with a 22lr conversion kit. I've seen some combo packs in my local stores for VERY reasonable prices, and the gun shoots great, build quality seems VERY high. I want a 22lr for more range time and practice, but obviously a more powerful cartridge for carry and self-defense.
For ANYONE who thinks a .22 won't stop someone... do your history and research. And if that is not enough for you, watch this: YOUTUBE / watch?v=5o0CyqZ2D-g . That is just ONE case where it has stopped someone, of many. I have heard a few other stories where women have killed someone with a .22
ive heard these are problematic. But my wife likes the look of this one over the Ruger mkIII. are these reliable guns? how bout the controls and stuff, easy for a girl to use?
I love when idiots say a 22 won't drop a human...Yet not one of these toughguys will let You shoot at them with one from any distance...If You are soooo sure they aren't lethal, walk down range and hold still, show some proof of your convictions...Dumbass
The only problem I have with the P22 is the sights (if you CLEAN it REGULARLY and use the ammo RECOMMENDED by Walther that it is DESIGNED to shoot with B generation magazines 99% of Walther's BITCH factor evaporate. Use CCI High Velocity rounds for a great shooting session! Loaded with CCI Stingers the Walther, in the right hands can be DEADLY.
@herbertmoon11 no... no it is not. a .22 can take down a cyote, rabbit, coons, even big game if aimed in the right place. you think your air soft gun can take somthing like that down? maybe a mouse. maybe.
@herbertmoon11 mainly because it's cheap...but I tell you what if that's true..ill let u shoot me with your airsoft..and I'll shoot you with my pussy 22 :)
@dickgiraffe Actually no. i was going to buy it for myself and let him shoot it.. and even if i was its my business and that was not directed torwards you. but i thank you for your inconvience,
@wody990 I recently bought a Chiappa 1911-22 and I love that thing, what a blast to shoot, and quite reliably too. It will shoot the Federal Bulk Ammo just fine. If you happen to have an actual 1911, the Chiappa would be a great trainer as well. My first gun that was all mine was a Taurus model 72 pump action 22 mag. So much fun, your first gun is something that you just hang on to forever, I was 11 or 12 BTW, good luck in your hunt for a fun plinker, you have many options at hand.
@pontiacmaniac2 I greatly appreciate your reply. I had a savage arms .22 LR and i love it. Im really looking into it. I know id love both the p-22 and the Chiappa, But i agree, i do have many options. Thanks again.
Sootch, I have never fired a .22 handgun. I have shot lots of .22 rifle rounds, and I noticed that they are a lot of fun. Anyway, I have a .357 and a .380. My sis wants to buy her first .22 for concealed carry... any thoughts?
Americans, stop being fools! .22 firearms are not toys. They are deadly! Would you want to get shot by a .22lr pistol or rifle? Would you want your kids to? NO X(
.22lr is one of the most useful cartridges in American History. Recently Seal Team Six used a .22lr rifle to shoot the computer Bin Laden was watching p0rn on--right before they blew up an Environmentally Friendly helicopter to drowned out the sound of their fatal centerfire shots. Yay .22!
@Beamster420 Totally agree, I was refering to him saying a .22 will "bounce" off someone with dense muscle. .22 is NOT a toy, it will hurt you if you get shot. And btw, i own a gun :)
i see the not doing damage comments all the time ... if somebody shoots you with 5 or 6 shots from a .22 ... its probably gona make you not care about assaulting/robbing that person anymore, like said before, self-defense aint just killing
i saw one of this at the pawn shop they saleing it use for $350 out the door , i think that too much for a use 22 pistol . but in 2 week there going to be a gun show so im go hunt for a cheap walt p 22
@penguinseth .22 ammo has actually been known to bounce off of bigger men with dense musculature, so no, it's not reliable as a self defense gun. If you are hungry for wabbit, get it for hunting. The best feature of a gun like this is the practice you get for bigger guns, because you can get 500 rounds of .22 ammo for about what 50 rounds of 9mm costs
@apologeticsman Moron, if you shoot someone even with a "weak" .22 it WILL hurt them. It's true a .22 is not a reliable self-defense gun, but it'll never just "bounce off" them.
@magnus3318 I have seen it happen, so I guess that makes you the moron. You would have to hit someone directly in the head from no more than 10 yards, or in the heart to kill them with a .22. I had a friend back in Tennessee whose wife shot him POINT BLANK in the head with a .25 auto, and it didn't even penetrate the skull.
@apologeticsman And on the ammo box, it says the round can kill at 1km. Maybe not perfectly true, but the bullet will go through skin and muscle, an do damage. And, you don't need to kill somone for self-defense :)
@apologeticsman wtf?! so a 22 will go through a frying pan but not muscle? a 22 will penitrate a car door. its a small round with enough velocity to punch small holes, next your gunna tell me a .223 round wont penitrate because its just a .003 larger then a 22!
I have the OD green P22 "target". I assume that the lonnger barrel allows for better cycling of the slide. It has shot almost anything I put into it. (Inclu. but not limited to Remington subsonic, Winchester, CCI, Aguila subsonic, and winchester HP.) I did have a minor feeding problem with the hollow winchesters if you use the slide release on reload, but it was isolated to my wife handling the pistol. I really, really recommend the target version.
@poprocks4 i'd probably go for something a little bigger like a .38 or a .40. But i wouldnt be able to get away with killing some one for self defence because of my countries shitty legal system which sets out to protect criminals = /
@tiffyj85 Australia, believe it or not. our legal system is shocking. if we are being robbed or assaulted or mugged we are only allowed to use the equal amount of force as the person attacking, and get this- a burgeler broke into a ladies garage while she was on holiday and he sewed her for not being able to get back out of the garage! I have seen petty criminals get away with longer prison sentances than murderers here.
@StunnedMutha That is pretty lame. We have some "horror" stories here where a man had deffended himself by shooting a man w/ a .45 cal pistol after giving a warning shot. The man died and was found to have a sharpened screw driver in his hand ment to stab him with. The shooter was sentenced to jail for 10yrs for excessive force (?) Well as you know each state w/in the country has it's own set of laws which we have to keep in mind before pulling the trigger, even if your live depends on it.
I love the Walther P22. It is very lightweight and fun to shoot. The ammo is also very cheap. The best thing about it is that it does not kick at all. You can stay on target and shoot. Thanks for the good video.
weird the fedrel bulk ammo is all that would work in mine, and that wasnt even all the time. it got sent back 4 times, and never ran smooth. crappy gun, DO NOT BUY ONE!
hey guy who shot the nickle slide P22/double wielded P22s... have you had problems with your electronic hearing protection? ive got the same model as you and one side of the muffs is starting to go out on me. one side works fine, but the other i cant hear out of sometimes, and when i can, i just hear static.
@robertw006 Hey. I did replace the main wire cable between the muffs on this pair. I assume the conductors broke from folding the muffs to the compact config. I did but another pair, though, so I have two pairs. John
i got a couple guns this being 1 of em theyre real good i have 9 guns in the house and im not a redneck i live in Conn. I have 3 p22s. 2 ruger p94s. 1 m16a4. 1 m4a1 carbine. my m16 is auto because i have a license and i made it auto. i have a shotgun and in the attic i have a .50 cal in 3 seperate parts
@runeman1996 Bullshit why dont you spend less time playing call of duty and more time looking for a job so that you could maybe actually buy a gun, and i would be curious as to how much it cost you to maintain you "license" eash year?
@lakemonster8 hey buddy this is also my sons account, i have plenty of guns. I'm a Major in the United States Marine Corps. Active duty since 1988-Present. I think I know what I'm talking about. By the way $200.
@ChrisBad15 The Sig is excellent. I like the Walther a little better for ergonomics but you'd do well with either pistol. I'd try them in my hand side by side to get a real feel. Good Luck~
@ChrisBad15 I have the sig and it is vary reliable and shoots the cheep fed ammo. the trigger has a long reset on it that I do not like but I am also use to my custom xd trigger. and I am having some trouble with the barrel loosening up hopefully some locktite will fix it .
@jhfjhgtf not really, it's a killers calibre of choice because of the ballistics, should research such things. Just because its not an 'in your face' round like a .45ACP doesnt mean its no good
is there acctually a reason these .22 pistols, though nice, ussually cost so much more than a .22 rifle does? You would think the other way around due to cost to make but they cost 3-4 times more sometimes.
That was some nice james bond moves at the end lol OUCH THAT WAS HOT! lol hahaha. sounds like yall are from the south if im not mistaken, same here guys
I just got a P22, 3 1/2" bbl, with the integral laser. It feeds CCI mini-mags OK. It shoots a 5" group at 25 yards, at 7 yards it shoots about one inch. Fit and finish is superb. The laser is very visible in the daytime. A real fun gun to shoot! My price was $399.
sootch ....... is that man your father or a friend? if he is your father,i envy you cause i never had a chance to shoot with him.. died at age 50!! You should embrase
those moments also with true friends!! but i love your vids. keep on making them god bless you! greetings ..J.
Don't use as self defense. I would get the biggest caliber you are comfortable with, maybe a 9mm (inexpensive new or used. Get a nice gun for under $450 new, $300-$400 used) or a .45 which would really do the trick. Best indoor self defense is a 12 gauge shotgun filled with buckshot. You can easily blast 10" holes through walls with that thing...
Hmmm, are more people killed with 22lr's than higher Calibers? I wanted to stay with a 22 so I wouldn't accidentally kill an attacker, just would em and knock em out.
-Sir Joshua
P.S. What type of Ammo is best for a P22 when using it for self defense? Hallow points, perhaps?
@williamrafe1 Just get a New one @ a gun show. Bargain for around $350, or "closing door sale" (Last day, last minute, when the vendors wanna make as much cash as they can before they have to leave) for round$305..if you're persistent.
i tried this today its small and it fits the hands very well the hand grip could have been a tad bit wider or longer but its a well balanced gun very easy to load and if your going and shooting 500 pieces of ammo for the first time the clip loading will hurt your thumbs at first like i said its a fun little gun to pop targets with id recomend it
The Walther p22(made by smith and wesson) and the Smith and wesson m&p's share alot of the same features. The p22 is like the 'little' brother to the M&P.
I FOUND THE FASTEST FULL-AUTO .22LR MACHINE GUN IN THE WORLD! Take look at this wild thing on my YouTube video. I sell a DVD video that explains easy way to convert the RUGER 10/22 .22LR rifle into full-auto. The ladies love a man with a full-auto weapon. lol !!!! Call or e-mail me at GUN SLINGER VIDEOS, 425-293-5977. BilluvRights@aol.com
I have this pistol I bought it to start out shootin a hand gun I done went threw 555 rounds hollow point with no problems no jams nothing and cleaning is simple I love this gun for starting out and is a blast to shoot! My bro got 40 cal glock n I enjoy this gun better but I do agree wouldn't want to trust my life with this pistol but amazing for plinking
I got a little scared when it said "double fisted" @_@ lol jk. i really want a pistol as a first gun, and i want it to be a fun 22. and this looks like what ive been looking for.
@bustaclown89 Yes they are very fun. Just make sure to get some high grain bullets. The ones I have are over 50% lead over the casing. I also have the 5" extension on. There's quite the accessories (lasers, different size mags/drums, etc) for it and are quite easy to field strip. This pistol has taught me alot about handguns and safety (it has 2 safety mechanisms). I also have a walther pk380 (similar design to p22). Perhaps this can be used better for self defense?
Why in the world is this gun on the Chicago Unsafe weapons roster. Of course there should not be a list at all. I just bought one love the little gun so far.
sootch, my man, loving all the vids you've been putting out. Any who, my question is, i know you already told ppl this guns good for light defence, but im just scared because of the law here in PA, if i was to feel threatened, and i had a .22 cal weapon for self defence, isnt there a chance i can do time, or get in trouble, if my .22 doesnt do its job?, couldnt the offender sue? because we all know that if you feel threatened, you have to put the person down, hence why officers empty thier clips
@shockeyshock I would consider a larger caliber for self defense. More people are killed with a 22lr than all other calibers combined, but I like a more potent caliber for self defense. I'm not sure about the law in PA but there can be civil suits from even a justifed shooting. IMHO thanks Bro~
@sootch00 Thanks, you always get back to the viewers, hard to find someone with a positive input whom you subscribed to, who gets back to all the serious questions and comments. You should consider, (if you already have not) making t-shirts, im sure alot of your viewers, like me would buy. and if you have, promote them more!! :)
@shockeyshock If you are worried about being sued, you do not need to carry a weapon - period. What do you think is going to happen when you kill some scumbag? His mother, brother, sister, uncle and these days, maybe he preacher will sue you... I've heard it said from guys who have been through the FFDO course at work, they tell you if you shoot and kill/wound someone - expect to pay $100,000.00 minimum...
@Tramsootru i'd rather kill/wound some one, and come back home to my family than not be alive at all and leave my family with a tremendous debt. I'll just fix this prob with a 226 40 cal conversion, thanks tho.
@shockeyshock I'd also agree with sootch00 on this one. A higher caliber would be better for self defense. .22lr rounds are more designed for the purpose of a cheap firearm ammunition. If you have to use a firearm to protect yourself, you will want the reassurance that it will eliminate the threat.
@thenewchance yeah, thanks for the extra opinion, i also agree, thats why i asked, i just thought they made that model different, for some reason i always thought that the bullet was of a higher grain (lr, long rifle, more white powder grain) all in all, i'll be going with the 226 40 cal conversion, thanks again
To all you that think .22's are weak inneffective weapons. a .22 WILL kill you. and is very very dangerous. however it dosent have alot of stopping power making it not so great for self defense.
Very unlikely that the bluing is responsible for the firing issues. Some P22 pistols are just finicky.

@poprocks4 i'd probably go for something a little bigger like a .38 or a .40. But i wouldnt be able to get away with killing some one for self defence because of my countries shitty legal system which sets out to protect criminals = /
StunnedMutha 1 year ago
@StunnedMutha what country do you live in? I suppose more stabbings than shootings.
tiffyj85 1 year ago
@tiffyj85 Australia, believe it or not. our legal system is shocking. if we are being robbed or assaulted or mugged we are only allowed to use the equal amount of force as the person attacking, and get this- a burgeler broke into a ladies garage while she was on holiday and he sewed her for not being able to get back out of the garage! I have seen petty criminals get away with longer prison sentances than murderers here.
StunnedMutha 1 year ago

Thanks for the good video.

weird the fedrel bulk ammo is all that would work in mine, and that wasnt even all the time. it got sent back 4 times, and never ran smooth. crappy gun, DO NOT BUY ONE!

hey guy who shot the nickle slide P22/double wielded P22s... have you had problems with your electronic hearing protection? ive got the same model as you and one side of the muffs is starting to go out on me. one side works fine, but the other i cant hear out of sometimes, and when i can, i just hear static.
robertw006 1 year ago
@robertw006 Hey. I did replace the main wire cable between the muffs on this pair. I assume the conductors broke from folding the muffs to the compact config. I did but another pair, though, so I have two pairs. John

runeman1996 1 year ago
@runeman1996 Bullshit why dont you spend less time playing call of duty and more time looking for a job so that you could maybe actually buy a gun, and i would be curious as to how much it cost you to maintain you "license" eash year?
lakemonster8 11 months ago
@lakemonster8 hey buddy this is also my sons account, i have plenty of guns. I'm a Major in the United States Marine Corps. Active duty since 1988-Present. I think I know what I'm talking about. By the way $200.

jackhemphill1 1 year ago
sootch, have you ever used the Sig Sauer Mosquito, and if so how would you compare it?
ChrisBad15 1 year ago
@ChrisBad15 The Sig is excellent. I like the Walther a little better for ergonomics but you'd do well with either pistol. I'd try them in my hand side by side to get a real feel. Good Luck~
sootch00 1 year ago
@sootch00 so how much do those go for? i realy want to get one in that style "like a glock" but those are expensive.
Splice012 4 months ago

Umaxen 1 year ago
Dont shoot the Federal or Winchester and you won't have these problems...
Fire Remington Golden Bullet and the CCI mini mag!
P22 is a fine 22LR.

Catsinabirdcage 1 year ago
I wouldn't call the P22 a toy. I don't think any human on earth would survive ten rounds of that to the face.

i tried this today its small and it fits the hands very well the hand grip could have been a tad bit wider or longer but its a well balanced gun very easy to load and if your going and shooting 500 pieces of ammo for the first time the clip loading will hurt your thumbs at first like i said its a fun little gun to pop targets with id recomend it
crapper1 1 year ago
yes the 22 is a fun target gun in a rifle going to the range to try out the pistol version of this cal.

bustaclown89 1 year ago
@bustaclown89 Yes they are very fun. Just make sure to get some high grain bullets. The ones I have are over 50% lead over the casing. I also have the 5" extension on. There's quite the accessories (lasers, different size mags/drums, etc) for it and are quite easy to field strip. This pistol has taught me alot about handguns and safety (it has 2 safety mechanisms). I also have a walther pk380 (similar design to p22). Perhaps this can be used better for self defense?

sootch, my man, loving all the vids you've been putting out. Any who, my question is, i know you already told ppl this guns good for light defence, but im just scared because of the law here in PA, if i was to feel threatened, and i had a .22 cal weapon for self defence, isnt there a chance i can do time, or get in trouble, if my .22 doesnt do its job?, couldnt the offender sue? because we all know that if you feel threatened, you have to put the person down, hence why officers empty thier clips
shockeyshock 1 year ago
@shockeyshock I would consider a larger caliber for self defense. More people are killed with a 22lr than all other calibers combined, but I like a more potent caliber for self defense. I'm not sure about the law in PA but there can be civil suits from even a justifed shooting. IMHO thanks Bro~

pentogram23 1 year ago
@shockeyshock If you are worried about being sued, you do not need to carry a weapon - period. What do you think is going to happen when you kill some scumbag? His mother, brother, sister, uncle and these days, maybe he preacher will sue you... I've heard it said from guys who have been through the FFDO course at work, they tell you if you shoot and kill/wound someone - expect to pay $100,000.00 minimum...
Tramsootru 1 year ago
@Tramsootru i'd rather kill/wound some one, and come back home to my family than not be alive at all and leave my family with a tremendous debt. I'll just fix this prob with a 226 40 cal conversion, thanks tho.
shockeyshock 1 year ago
@shockeyshock I'd also agree with sootch00 on this one. A higher caliber would be better for self defense. .22lr rounds are more designed for the purpose of a cheap firearm ammunition. If you have to use a firearm to protect yourself, you will want the reassurance that it will eliminate the threat.
thenewchance 1 year ago
@thenewchance yeah, thanks for the extra opinion, i also agree, thats why i asked, i just thought they made that model different, for some reason i always thought that the bullet was of a higher grain (lr, long rifle, more white powder grain) all in all, i'll be going with the 226 40 cal conversion, thanks again

To all you that think .22's are weak inneffective weapons. a .22 WILL kill you. and is very very dangerous. however it dosent have alot of stopping power making it not so great for self defense.
