This is a 6229 right? I just bought one off of Ebay like 6 hours ago. If Mine weren't teal *sigh* I would want mine to look exactly like yours. I would rather see it be an all original though.
I want one of those, in the exatly the same colour, and use one as a daily driver, it could work if i put an diesel engine in one.
Ok that might not be something you ordinary do to a car like this, but i don't wanna drive around in jap cars and ''plastic junks'', and i wouldn't take a nice car in original shape and do that with so don't worry :)
This is such a wonderfull car, it was the best looking car ever from that era, if Chrysler introduced those rear ''wings-rocket design'', then Cadillac perfected the concept to it's high peak, the Cadillac 1959- represents an long forgotten period, Cuba, Elvis, Rock 'N' Roll, Jimi Hendrix, Ingo vs Floyd, classic memories of past that my uncle used to tell me about when that he were reminded of everytime he saw one of the 50s, mostly when he saw the Cadillac 59-.
It will get about 14 M.P.G. at 55 M.P.H. Around town, they got around 6-8 M.P.G. You have to remember though that gas was around .30 cents/gallon. People thought nothing of filling their tanks up twice a day just to go riding around. It's a beautiful car.
Yeah, it's a dream came true!!! I adgree - it has to be fantastic to drive it down the Pasadena Freeway - there's no doubt about it, but I swear - it's great to drive it anyplace!!! Well, the reverse lights - NOW they work! Thanks for noticing - you're very eagle-eyed! Stay well!
That car has a 7 liter 325 hp 390 big block V8. The Eldoroado version had 345 hp. Ecto-1 as basically the same as this car except it had a hearse body.
1959 Caddy has been my dream car since i first saw it on movie "Ghostbusters" Since then i've been trying to find out everything about it. That car is awesome! :)
looks more like a Series 62, Sedan De Villes have the "Sedan De Ville" script on the rear quarte panel and the roof overhangs the rear window slightly as well. Whereas on the Series 62, the roof slopes with the rear window
damn shes a beaut!

Even the windshield of this car is a wonderful job, i'm stunned how engineers designed all these curved lined without any computers !
