wow! i've been into rock and blues for many years and i never heard of bobby parker. tho of course i've known some great musicians myself who will never be famous.
don't like the featured song, but this guy sounds real interesting, talent to burn no doubt, thank you for the info, gonna listen to some more of his stuff now
Actually 2 songs are featured: The 1st one is recorded with british musicians - the 2nd one is recorded 10 years earlier with Paul Williams who recorded THE HUCKLEBACK. If you are more 50's orientated you proably prefer the later song :-)
@2011framat i should of paid a bit more attention to this, thank you for update (a bit scatter brained at times is me). I blame the music, and it blames me :)
Thank you for sharing this unknown great! What's up with the USA and their lack of recognition for superstar blues talent? Great informative video. I want to see your others. Do you have one on JGW?
I think there were too many potential blues superstars out there in the USA even from the 20's up to the 60's so if some of them weren't at the right place in the right time almost nobody took notice of them.Did you ever listen to the music of BEE HOUSTON?He was very good but is until today almost completely overlooked (unfortunately he died in the early 90's).
I did some 1-minute-cartoon tributes (but only with me playing all intruments& making up the songs):HOOKER, BO D. etc.
So there are people who never heard of Bobby Parker? Well, that's me, count me in the bunch of the uneducated :) nice cartoon though, and the first song rocks
@BOBBYPARKERBLUES Youtube is strange. I humbly admit I never heard of a Blues Legend and the first contact I get is by the Blues Legend himself, lol. Happy to subscribe
Excellent cartoon, Framat - thanks for pm'ing me about it. I got a copy of Watch Your Step 2nd hand many years ago, didn't know what it would be like, but the name of the artist & the song and the record label looked interesting, and when I played it it nearly blew my head off, it had so much energy! A few years later I heard "I Was Gonna Quit My Baby" on a Blue Horizon LP, and from then on I was hooked. Great to know you're still playing Bobby, get over here to the UK - we need you!
@2011framat Hey Framat thanks for stopping by and all the support all love you have shown me through out the year with your video work here on youtube, peace and full blessing goes out to you and your family .........Guitar Blues Legend Bobby Parker
You should not judge too hard: the 2nd song is over 50 years old & proably a1st or 2nd take + B.Parker was only 20 at that time. It is not like today where many people have homestudios, dvd, cameras and guitar teachers. This music was new then and young musicians had not even the chance to record their music for rehearsals to listen to their own playing (&mistakes)&control it so comfortable like today.
Thank you for mentioning the fact that Bobby Parker played in the Paul Williams Band. Mr. Parker has said in interviews that he learned a lot from working with Paul "Hucklebuck" Williams.
@PaulHucklebuckWms Yes I have said that and I will continue to tell the world what a great man Paul Hucklebuck Williams was he taught me so much he took alot of us young bucks under his wing he was our stage dad some don't believe because there is no documentation of us two together but it doesn't stop me from giving props where props are due Mr. Williams a true LEGEND always in my book always in my heart.....Bobby Parker
I created this cartoon to inspire people like you to check out on blues legend BOBBY PARKER - you have absolute no reason to be ashamed of not knowing him :-), Mr. Mills but some people who were working or even are still working in the music bussiness should be ashamed of ignoring him.
I would have done a Cartoon tribute on guitarist BEE HOUSTON,too but since he died about 15 years ago&I could not find enough infos about him to make a tribute like this one :-(

Is this the robert parker that wrote barefootin?? Oh and yes I know how cruel people can be.. I suppose I have been on both sides of the fence.. once upon a time.. long ago...but I really felt they deserved it
@2011framat I googled Bobby Parker. So many Parkers !!!! Is he Chris Parker the drummer's dad, possibly, or Robert M. Parker?? Oh I know why not visit the site Bobbyparkerblues and find out =^.^Dc
BTW when I wrote him that many music fans in Germany were not positive if Robert & Bobby were the same (years ago) - he wrote back telling me he is not sure but they could be related.
@2011framat that's okay.. I gotta keep focused.. I am one of those who can get sidetracked so easily because I like so much... but for the pure fans (I am a Mick Jagger addict best to stay focused on his leads, so to speak)... this is a fantastic revelation he is great.. thank you ~o~oX~o!
