@prelude511 Ive been having intake issues with my 2002 GT. when it is warm outside the car tends to make a sound like its got a vacuum around 4500rpm and it loses power. Ive been looking at a AEM cold air intake and i was wondering whether i would have to chip the car or do any modifications to the computer.
ur a fucking dumbass. u cant just add a turbo kit to this car. u would blow the motor in an instant. there are way too many variables to consider to judge how much horsepower it would gain even if you could do it as is. plus, u cnt unless you want to cut n2 the firewall to run the piping, u would also have to get headers unless u want to instantly blow the motor. the pistons would almost decenigrate instantly becouse they are made up of a compressed metal powder. if u have ne questions ask ds

don't think it's fast because it isn't...i own an '02 gt 5spd. It's quick but definitely not a speed machine. loads of fun to drive on turny roads and good gas mileage for a sports car, i average 26/27 mixed highway and city driving.
i also have an eclipse of my own. its an rs and i have beaten many gt's and gts's and mine is automatic. it the driver that counts, engine size dont mean nothing just more weight

The GT 3.0 v6 was a better package than the old turbo DSM. It made more torque at a lower RPM range, unless you were racing the 2 cars, the turbo had no advantage. The V6 had a top speed almost 10 MPH higher (144 C&D road test) and when you REV the 3.0, it screams, the turbo engine was rough, it made my teeth cold like a dentist drill!
3rd generations just suck!! those engine's are not for racing...that car look is just a drive from here to there...i have hope for the 4th generation's but they do not and will not ever beat my 99 turbo eclipse by looks or performance!!!

Short ram is the best way to go, unless you like to get water in your motor then go with the cold air. Don't listen to that shit about getting a bypass for the cold air, you still get water in your motor.
that may be true if you submerge the filter in water.. but who would do that? you know the designers of these products did take into consideration that people would be using these for everyday use.. think about it for a second
sorry man but theyre right.. i have a 3g as well. i had a sh*tty 3rd gear pull. i put my intake on and it summed that problem up for me. but you are right 4-5hp isnt going to give you a significant gain..but it will increase your pull a little.
I have on too I like your color. intake sounds good but it sounds like your clutch is ticking when u rev that is sooo anoying and exspensive i had to replace whole thing but its all good cus i got performance trans, cluch, and flywheel.
nope, no dyno time or anything, but with any intake you're not going to tell a real difference in how hard it pulls, it is mainly for sound. I find it totally worth it for the sound I got.

I wouldn't be talking too much shit there 16SHART. 3G's are higher in hp, higher in lb.torque and faster in accerlation than a 2g. I have beaten many modded 2g with my 3g. hondas and acuras do give out good races when i race them. LOL its best if you stop writing shit about 3g!

The GT 3.0 v6 was a better package than the old turbo DSM. It made more torque at a lower RPM range, unless you were racing the 2 cars, the turbo had no advantage. The V6 had a top speed almost 10 MPH higher (144 C&D road test) and when you REV the 3.0, it screams, the turbo engine was rough, it made my teeth cold like a dentist drill!

3rd generations just suck!! those engine's are not for racing...that car look is just a drive from here to there...i have hope for the 4th generation's but they do not and will not ever beat my 99 turbo eclipse by looks or performance!!!

Actually no I don't, Do you want to know why? I didn't by this car because I wanted a racecar. Sure, the 2nd generations are cool, but they have all been ragged out, not to mention the interior was even sh!tter as well. And besides my car makes just as much as those cars. I really don't regret it at all. Once I get out of college is when I'll actually get a nice car.

my friend has a gts 99 i believe. i have a 2001 gt.. i beat him every time.. 2nd and 3rd generation are pretty well match. its a drivers race. i love both cars.

his clutch is not going to go, do a little research, its the throw out bearing rattling.. my 3g only has 38k on it and its doin it, lots of people say thats all they have ever known their cars to do

hum.. lets see when your throw out bearing goes guess what.. you can't change gears.. won't engage HUm.. Sence you have to get to the clutch to change it just get a new one.. hum.. OR lets do you plan.. Change the throw out bearing Same cost in labor for doing the whole clutch.. lets use our thinkin caps..

Short ram is the best way to go, unless you like to get water in your motor then go with the cold air. Don't listen to that shit about getting a bypass for the cold air, you still get water in your motor.

sorry man but theyre right.. i have a 3g as well. i had a sh*tty 3rd gear pull. i put my intake on and it summed that problem up for me. but you are right 4-5hp isnt going to give you a significant gain..but it will increase your pull a little.

I have on too I like your color. intake sounds good but it sounds like your clutch is ticking when u rev that is sooo anoying and exspensive i had to replace whole thing but its all good cus i got performance trans, cluch, and flywheel.

nope, no dyno time or anything, but with any intake you're not going to tell a real difference in how hard it pulls, it is mainly for sound. I find it totally worth it for the sound I got.
