I use to work with patients who had Alzheimer's who would have loved these doll babies to death! As for the younger women I don't have a clue as to how playing with dolls could make them feel needed again, that's a much deeper problem. But if they aren't hurting anyone but deluding themselves with a fantasy hopefully they will grow out of this. Where there are real kids who need love and attention in foster care, orphanages, or with working mom's living in pretend land is really sick and twisted

It's not the theft or psychopath stories that make adoption such a leap of faith - it's the fact that there can be so much unknown about them. People didn't know squat about FAS when my brother was adopted, but it almost ruined our lives and it wasn't his fault. I think with these dolls, though, anytime you try to replace real life for a synthetic experience, you'll be disappointed and it can NEVER be what a person actually craves.
