  • It seems that in this boom-zoom kind of take off, the pilot doesn't not set the trim to TO(?)

Instead forward stick is applied to have the horizontal stabilizers in pitch down position..

    Just an observation...

    Anyways, that's a cool take off ^^

  • bad ass. two of these just flew over gainesville headed ssw

  • JESUS...they called that the "Viking Departure" for the F-15s leaving Lambert Field in St. Louis...got em outta the way of commercial traffic...once upon a time when Lambert field meant something. McDonnell Douglas...oh, hell, just shoot me.

Now all we can make are pussy airplanes...no more F4s, B-52s, F15s...just pussy electronic gamer shit.

  • Goddaaaaaamn!

  • wweewww

  • Amazing flight work

  • what the scientist said when he created jets: "alright this is how its gonna happen, we are going to strap bill to a rocket with wings and see how well he can control it, then we will strap jim to another rocket with wings and see who gets blown up first!"

  • Brave sky pilot. how high can you fly ? you will never ever reach the sky :)

  • by far the most badass tight jet EVER!

  • The f-15 doin what it does best.....being a jet powered rocket with wings.

  • I always wondered why the landing gears were so tall. It's because when taking off VERTICAL from the ground the back of the engines won't hit the ground... LOL. Nice!

  • these things get off the ground in an insanely short distance.

  • Wow

  • Awesome!!!

  • best aircraft in the world!!

my cousin was n F-15 E pilot before he died in training!!

I really miss him and now i know why he loved his aircraft (=

    F-15 FOREVER

  • @absba9 damn in training, RIP for him man, fav plane to.

  • that was a very fast takeoff. F-15 is crazy

  • the undefeated!!!!!!!!!!! F-15

  • Max performance take offs rule

  • That is an insane takeoff! Luv it. I mean, when they guy turns like that so soon - the lift from his wings becomes insignificant. It's all engine keeping that plane up. I love the F15!

  • I think that is a good idea to open up production line for F-15 again. USA needs more production lines now...

Did you know that the Russian filth has six active ones?

  • I dont believe filth is the right term for it...i hate how the russians talk their trash too but we dont need to provoke it.

And yes we do need more assembly lines...it'll give us more jobs haha

  • Did you know that between all of our aircraft producers here in the US we have far more...and did you know that the number of lines that the Russians have running don't matter AT ALL in the long run because they won't buy enough fighters to really compete with the US...

  • @tommytmt

I believe they are exporting them to India and especially Red China with their booming defence budget.

With Russia and the USA / NATO seriously cutting back, why the huge build-up in China?

That is why the Russian production lines are still significant.

Btw, have you seen the Chinese clone of our own F-16?

Israel denies it, but you must agree that the Jews sold "Lavi" fighter technology to them.

It is an old game, sell technology to enemies and then cry for newer weapons.

  • I am not suggesting that the F-22 is garbage, it is an over priced for a stealth ACFT, tecnology has been around for awhile, and it is still almost 200 million dollars....personaly I would have chosen the F-23.. besides the F-22 looks like an F-15 on steroids.. put that radar in the Eagle. The air force is skimping on the eagle and the falcon to buy more F-22s

  • ...BTW I think it was SOOO stupid for the air force not to make anything of the ACTIVE

  • @tommytmt

They put all their eggs in one basket with the F-22.

I like the F-22 but unless you have a booming economy with a big defense budget like Red China, you can't build enough of them.

With the F-15 assembly line still open and fighters reaching max flying lifetimes, it is time to reconsider the F-15 Active.

I haven't read or heard anything.

Seen the F-15B Active 3 times at Edwards AFB, they never flew a demo though.

  • @rampking1 : The F22 program has been cancelled.

  • The Eagle loaded weighs 44,500lbs as for the F-22 weighs loaded 64,460lbs the Raptor needs those 35,000lbs of thrust engines. as for the F-15 all depends which engine it uses. I have worked on the -100. thru the 220E Engines, and a few we had we did tests that had the -229 Engines.. and I can tell you this the trust to WEIGHT ratio was better in the Eagle, take them damn TVC off the raptor and see how she flys. put the same avionics and tvc in a Eagle.. the only thing a raptor has is stealth

  • Strikeeagle62, any insight to why the Air Force never went ahead with the "Active Eagle" that had vectored thrust?

I am asking because with the closing of the F-22 line, the Air Force had its eggs more or less in one basket.. In the next 5-7 years large numbers of fighters are going to be exceding their airframe life expectancy and the Air Force is going to be short of aircraft.

  • strikeeagle62 - first of all I LOVE the Eagle, but the F-22's normal takeoff weight IS NOT 64,000+lbs, and have you ever wondered why the Raptor weighs more? I mean it's not much(if any)bigger than the Eagle...it's the fuel capacity...and they have tested the Raptor many times with no T-V, it will still have a tighter turning radius than the Eagle because of the fact that it has much lower wing-loading and it has larger control surfaces...

  • MAX take off weight 83,500lbs, loaded weight 64,460..... thrust per engine 35,000lbs plus gives this jet a thrust to weight of 1.08( 1.26 with 50 % fuel on board/ THE F-15 Eagle Empty weight of an F-15C is 28,000lbs loaded weight is 44,500lbs...max weight is 68,000lbs engines produce 25,000lbs of thrust woth the -220 engines and 29,000lbs PLUS thrust.... thrust to weight... -220 1.12.... -229 1.30 THRUST TO WEIGHT RATIO Eagle is a COMBAT PROVEN F-22 NOTHING

  • @strikeeagle62 - did you miss my previous comment? I know that the spec sheets say 64,000+ lbs normal takeoff weight, but I know personally that is most certainly IS NOT that much...in fact its not even close to that...nominal thrust to weight is significantly highter than is listed, also the thrust of the engines is over 37,000lbs. The only reason the F-22 isn't combat proven is because top air force brass is too afraid to use it.

  • I prefer to fly a raptor in copmbat than the F-15. Sorry for that:P

  • you have all got to be joking. the f15 is fourth generation and the f22 is fifth.. in training excersises they put 1 f22 against 6 f15s so that its a challenge for the f22 pilot. f22 is teh most extreme thing ever built

  • The Eagle is faster than the Raptor, as for agility..take the TVC off the raptor aand we will see....the AF should have produced the F-15 Active variant and bought the YF-23

  • With a realistic combat load, the Eagle is not faster than the Raptor. One pilot said he could not reach Mach 2 with missiles on board.

  • If they had chosen the YF-23 we'd have even less than the 187 F-22's we're getting, the YF-23 was faster more advanced, stealthier, and (and this is key) a considerably more expensive design.

  • because the Airforce wanted all there money in the F-22 and F-35 program and forgetting the rest of the PROVEN ACFT

  • F-15 does beat Raptor. Govt. is considering opening up the production line again because Raptor is too expensive.

  • Doesn't beat it in agility.

  • The f-15 still beats the raptor in speed and agility. The f-22 is only good at stealth. Waste of govt. money.

  • lol, if you were talking about the F-15 ACTIVE then it could out perform the F-22 in some manouvers with it's full 3D thrust vectoring and front canard wings, but a F-15C wouldn't come close for tight manouvering, the F-22 also has better thrust to weight ratio and aerodynamics at speed.

  • actually the raptor has a worse thrust to weight.

  • Haha, are you kidding. The Raptor consistantly owns the Eagle during wargames.

  • Doesn't beat it in agility.

  • Speed? Yes i would say so too. Agility? I don't know about that one. Now beauty? You betcha.

  • Knightfang1, i have read that the Japanese have knocked the F35 and want the Raptor. I actually read it in a magazine.

  • gosh i remember the weather that day, fucking terrible.. we left early, just wasn't worth staying

  • I like that takeoff and the upside down before the turn

  • Look someone mentioned the Eurofighter. Why is it every American fighter plane video someone writes about the Eurofighter, I noticed no one said anything about the F22 being able to take out the F15. Its funny to me that this F15 is taking off and someone writes about the Eurofighter being able to take it out funny.

  • well said clownfishenigma, i will admit the EF is a good plane but the f-22 is way better.

  • F-22 is the #1 plane in the skys right now and the EF-2000 is easily the 2nd best. but why would a EF and an f-22 be going against eachother anyways? Hello the USA is the only country that will ever fly F-22's and all the EF-2000s belong to countries that are US allies. More likely an F-22 and an EF-2000 would be on the same side against some poor guys in 30+ year old migs.

  • well said, brother!

  • That's wrong. When Iran would attack Israel or another neighbour it could us US made F-14 Tomcats aiaginst fighters like the F-16.

The Falkland war also showed US made fighters (A-4 Skyhawks) against British fighter jets

  • yes thats true but the EF-typhoons are only being sold to countries that are essentially Permanant Allies and the F-22 will never be sold to anybody due to a law in the US forbiding it's sale, and it's questionable how many of iran's F-14s are still flyable seeing as how they've been cut off from spare parts for decades and are at least 30 years old by now. But while were at it why don't you include the F-5s that Iraq had befor Desert storm.

  • Oke. But the F-22 has been offered to japan. They are thinking to cancell that law.

BTW the EF2000 has been sold to Saudi-Arabia. Not a very stable region. What if the Saudi king would die and another comes which is not Pro-US (politicaly)?

  • Where did you hear about the raptor being offered to japan? My step mother works for lockheed martin and I've never heard that.

A USAF Squadron of f-22s deployed to japan for a six month deployment not a sales trip. Maybe you are thinking of the F-35

  • A defence newspaper for military analists and somewehere else. I saw the article yesterday again. Contact me by private mail for deatils.

  • thats dangerous cause the plane can stall then crash

  • your stupid, thats an incentive flight... its not dangerous they do it every day at Lakenheathe.. don't post if you don't know what the hell your talking about.

  • not enough power a take off procedure is u have to gain 150 knots i have a pilot licence so i think i know its still possible to do that with no problem but as soon as u started to accend ur power goes down

  • Couple things wrong with that.

    1. Every plane is different. I flew a DA-20 with a takeoff speed of 110 knots. I don't know what the F-15 takeoff speed is, but not all planes are 150.

    2. The planes you fly (probably Cessnas or Pipers?) don't have jet engines with afterburners - the F-15 gets much more power from their engines, hence why they can perform dangerous looking maneuvers as if they're routine - because they are (for them).

  • well what iam truing to say is its a dangerous maneuver and theres a possibility that the plane can stall

  • lol if you ever saw it in real life you'd think differently, the F-15 has more then enough power to peform such a take off. It's the best fighter to watch take off.

  • Like justintree3 said the F-15 engines have enough power. They will not in this kind of case. They can fly fully on jet engine power (like a rocket). If you're still not convinced I can show you the aerodynamic formula but maybe you should learn your aerodynamics better :p

  • I think just about everything done in a jet fighter is dangerous, hence the reason they have ejection seats.

  • The F-15 at full afterburner, and without a full load of weapons and fuel tanks, has a thrust to weight ratio of 1.3 to 1 so it has enough power to take off like this. the F-15 is one of only a very few heavy fighters to have a possitive ratio.

  • lol that thing has so much power it can go to the straight vertical and still climb at an amazing rate

  • Until there is no Eurofighter (England, Lake District -- 1 aviation-school-two seater Eurofighter could easily knock out two F-15 following it)

  • now that's air superiority

  • Nice to have a little power at your disposal, eh?

  • cool
