I hate it when Lela Rochon (Ruby's mother) says that colored schools are not as good as white schools. The sad fact it that the were then and continue now to be better resourced. Today, schools are more segregated than ever and students of color receive poor quality education while white schools receive more resources.

Education reform is more of the same, and now there is a sweeping move across the nation to privatize everything including education. I pay taxes because I believe all children deserve a quality education, but they spend the money on BS like bailing out companies and sending more resources to schools with majority white students. I know exactly what I am speaking of.
