  • Dont Mind The begrudgers....where ever music is sung in the spirit of the people, it is at home....no more so, for Irish music ,than in Newfoundland...but it could be Canada or China..Japan or Egypt , and anywhere else you can think of....in spirit we all share the same longing for freedom , equality and a great night of song and dance......this is how the music is preserved..by sharing!!... Go nDeirigh an bothar libh.(may the road rise before ye)......Matt

  • Newfies aren't Irish.

  • @Otacon144 Yes, we are. Where do you think we get our culture?

  • @WingLee51 - I was always told that while the Newfies were a mashup of European/Britannic cultures, they somehow managed to be their own culture in spite of it. :)

  • great big sea is from newfinland people not ireland

  • @nick12921 Its NewFoundLand not NewFinLand xD

  • @magicalbridge yes but you know what i ment :P

  • just because the people singing the song aren't irish song doesnt mean it can't be an irish song, GBS is hardly the first group to record this song, though this is a nice version

  • They're most certainly newfies.

  • i like how everyone thinks GBS is irish. they're CANADIANS....

  • @Vaginafuck1 in fact, they're newfoundlanders! : )

  • @Vaginafuck1 Who draw on their Irish and Scottish roots for their music.

  • @Vaginafuck1 Nonenthless they're damm good ;o)

  • @Vaginafuck1 maybe its bec im a rover is a irish song?

  • @Vaginafuck1 doesnt matter, its not there song, its an irish folk song

  • @Vaginafuck1 actually they are newfies

  • @Vaginafuck1 they are from newfoundland yes but their heratige is Irish and Scottish,

  • @Vaginafuck1 its actually still an irish folk song most of the newfoundland ancestry is from ireland this song is probably much older than great big sea.
