How is the response time on the screen? I have a 24" external on my Macbook Pro, and it's not really suited for gaming (wide gamut display, amazing for color). The response time is something like 12ms though, and it makes most games pretty unplayable (not that I play anything on here, since the computer is 4 years old haha).

@PogueSquadron I don't have any response issues at all. It's been a long time since I've had an LCD with visible response issues. Most modern, brand-name panels are fine.

Today I was playing and noticed some slowdown for the first time, but only on the Carnival map, and only when smoke was nearby or I was in a busy battle with akimbo guns.

It wasn't a big deal, but just something that wouldnt have happened on my Core i7 2.66 Dell with Radeon 5770 in 1920x1200.

Do you think it has to do with the native resolution of the iMac? How does the game look outside its native resolution? I know people say they hate to do that but I've never had a problem with it for the most part.

@PogueSquadron SInce I posted this I regularly run MW2 in 1920x1200 in a window (so I can multitask), and sometimes in fullscreen, it works and looks great.

When you have a monitor with this tiny a dot pitch, downrezzing is not a problem.

BTW I solved the occasional smoke slowdowns by just turning off the smoke optimization in video settings.

and I only plan to be playing at low resolutions for the time being 1280x1024

what kind of mouse are you using? A normal or the magic?

@elazzja I don't remember what I was using in this video - either my Logitech G5 or the magic mouse.

I was surprised how well I could play after a half hour with the magic mouse, but it has no advantage to me over the G5 except that its wireless and matches the iMac.
