i thought this bond film was pretty weak. hard to follow what is actually going on, and what is going on is pretty dull. i just hope that we;re not slipping into old brosnan type films here...oh god ive only just forgotten die anoter day and tomorrow never dies or whatever the shitters were called.
I c what u r saying; I just thought that this movie pretty much hit on all the 007 notes: beautiful girls, car chases, gunfights, etc. What do people expect when they go 2 c a Bond film?
but it didnt hit the note of 'a good plot'. theres been 23 films full of beautiful girls, car chases, gunfights, etc. lets see the backdrop as a little more interesting. hence why casino royale is the better film.
1st off by "CR" I assume that u mean that u must mean the Daniel Craig version? Look, I'm not nec. disagreeing w/u: I'm more of trying to get a pt. across. Why r u comparing the '06 "Casino Royale" to "QoS" straight across (except that Craig plays Bond in both of them)? There r better ("Goldfinger" & "Fr, Russia w.Love" spring 2 mind) & worse 007 films that either '06 "CR" & "QoS". It doesn't affect "QoS"'s place as a perfectly acceptable 007 film, IMHO.
Cont.: 4 instance, I could say "Dr. No" was a better 007 film than the '06 version of "Casino Royale" (which I think most long-time 007 fans would agree w/); it doesn't mean that "Casino Royale" (the Craig version) is suddenly a crap Bond film. Do u c what I'm trying to get across?
I think a lot of people are pissed because he ACTUALLY GETS HURT and other recent additions. I grew up watching Bond movies and I'm fine with it. To each his own, I suppose.
I was originally intoduced to Bond via the Fleming novels several yrs. b4 the Connery films were out. The (prosaic) fictional Bond is actually quite mortal: he suffers from depression, he struggles w/his role as a 00-agent, etc. But, as u said: to each their own.

Tomorrow Never Dies wasn't that bad.... though the World is Not Enough and Die another Day were both awful

I liked Day another Day, it was more espectacular than the usual bond films, but I didn't like World is Not Enough
