I've read, watched and listened to any number of interviews with him (and others talking about working with him) and he comes across consistently as an intelligent, funny, sweet guy who is, as Spikesbint said, rather shy. I think that is part of his charm. He takes his profession very seriously; himself, not so much, which is refreshing.
