  • Nothing beats Separ and Racor in these matters...

And i do believe that Fleetguard would not be pleased to see this video :-)

  • news flash,,"most" engine wear occurs at start-up,when there is no oil on the bearings

  • it looks like it just purges the filter of clean oil back into the tank, what shit

  • FS-2500 = Full of $hit-2500

  • this would be perfect atv/dirtbike racing

  • Bypass filters like this have been around for many, many years. They do work and there are thousands of positive, admittedly anecdotal results.

However, don't think that this filter will result in new looking oil. It won't make your oil look amber. It will, however improve it's appearance somewhat.

  • If it filter to much it will trip the bypass valve and then you are wasting your time and killing your bearings. that is why it isn't good for these filter to be on Chevy duramax and dodge cumming in fact k&n oil filters can void your warranty on dodge

  • @coxbrent I call BS on the idea that any name brand oil filter by itself would void any warranty.

  • Make a product for a chevy dammit!

  • where i get this filter what is the life span for it how much is it for one. does run well for all truck

  • Now, wouldn't something that filter that well dramatically lower oil pressure due to lower oil flo? You guys know what I mean?

  • @crazydiesellover it's setup to only filter ~5% of your oil as it passes through a bypass, so you still retain your normal filter. So over a period of time it will have filtered all the engine oil still, but not reducing flow noticeably at all

  • @crazydiesellover Just like an air filter that traps more dust, it would have to restrict air flow due to all of the excess trapped. Many filters get away with this by adding more filtering media so that the surface area is increased and oil/air pressure is un restricted.

  • @crazydiesellover Also, I just read this on the FS-2500 site: "The FS-2500 meters the flow of oil within the matrix of the element itself. The average flow rate throughout the life of the element (10,000 miles for Class 8 trucks) is 1.5 gallons per minute. This is very slow relative to what your oil pump is displacing, but fast enough to keep up with contaminant creation/ingestion." Now, they even say that the rate is slower than your pump works...so why is this not a red flag to them?

  • One word: Frantz

  • Hehe not a good commercial for Fleetguard :-)

  • its an add on put it in a truck alone it will fry the engine. it only can filter a small amount per cycle....i good idea might work but not practical

  • never heard of these who are they made by and where can i buy one?

  • I've heard of these filters... all good things. Makes a lot of sense.
