  • what a wonderful woman :)

  • Gosh this is so pretty. Me and my family went to the Grand Ole Opry held in the Ryman, a couple of weeks ago and Jean was there, and she yoddled I was so amazed at this woman. I'm only 17 but I absolutley love stuff like this. I wish singers had this much talent these days.

I'm actually thinking about becoming a country singer, I'm not sure where to start though, I have the voice and I'm ready I just don't know what people will think because I want to sing Classic Country.

  • @hottdylan1993

Go with what your heart says to do..Classic Country will always be there, and things do have a habit of coming back around..Personally, I can't really get into the modern Country Sound..Sounds like bad bar band rock..Am not knocking that, just that country to me should sound like COUNTRY..Plain and simple..Good luck..

  • brill,what more can u say

  • No song title. Maybe this is because there is NO audio either.

  • Loving her on "Country's Family Reunion". DVD's. Her Gruffness is so funny...

  • What a talent! She has always been one of my favorites of all the great dames on the Grand Ole Opry!

  • Great lady and an awesome talent

  • what's gonna happen when us old farts die off? Does the music leave with us?

  • @lazoputz nope... i'm 23 and i love country music :) so.... there's gonna be at least one person lovein it :)

  • love all the stuff she sang......classics that will live forever

  • Jean Shepard ...great singer.

  • greatest voice i ever heard, and like a good whiskey she get even better with time. god bless you jean from rabbie burns county in ayrshire scotland,

  • what's name of this song please

  • Old fashioned?? Not at all, ladies like Jean Shepard knew how to sing country sounding songs, and that sound is still in demand enough that she keeps pretty busy belting out songs to this day. I'd sure like to go to a show where she was the main treat to listen to. Bruce

  • What is her address and phone number?

  • my grandpa loved her and considered her his favorite girl country singer.

  • Brilliant. I love Jean Shepard and this is one my favourite songs of hers. She has a traditional voice. The female Roy Acuff!

  • female Roy Acuff..... huuuummmm... is that a good thing?

  • Yes

  • She's one of the best female traditional-country singers.

She is one of those who makes me wonder why she wasn't inducted in The Country Music Hall of Fame, years ago!

  • anybody know what year this is?

  • 1953-54

  • I think 54-56

  • l.o.l.... HE'S A GIRL

  • I knew your Grandma wasn't dead, she's very much alive! You are a lucky girl!

  • Good for you you give her a big kiss..

  • dyer - aren't you getting Jean Shepherd confused with "Miss Audrey" Williams who is buried next to Hank Sr.? Audrey had a daughter before she married Hank Sr. and then their son, Hank, Jr. was born not too long before his daddy died. Jean is still living I presume and I think she remarried after her hubby Hawkshaw was killed. I like Jean's singing, especially "A Dear John Letter" with Ferlin Huskey. Thanks for posting this jane. - Paula

  • thnk yu she is my granny i love her very much and they are very well talking about ollie imajean sheperd(jean shepard) haha lol

  • My mother knew her and never had a bad thing to say about her. What a gacious lady. Thanks

  • Jean Shepard is Hawkshaw Hawkin's second wife. His first wife lives in West Virginia, I know her, (her name is Reva). Reva calls Jean Shepard, 'Ol Shep'.

  • yeah they wr gonna get married in tha l8 50s but he died in the plane crash with patsy clyne i knothis cuz shes my granny

  • THE VIDEO IS ABOUT MISS JEANNIE SHEPHARD!

And a fine & WONDERFULLY TALENTED LADY SHE IS, WAS & EVER SHALL BE!

My husband & I met her & a member of her band back in '78 coming across interstate 90 from N. Dakota. We couldn't have been treated more wonderfully. I grew up listening to her music. She will always have a place in my heart. She is one of the finest ladies of country music.

  • me de oker

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeee this song

  • she looks like she isnt enjoying herself, and that dude with the piece of hay in his mouth in the background is checking out her booty

  • How many of you young people know Jean Shepard is Hank Williams Jr,s Mother. She was the first wife of Hank Sr. They are buried side by side in Montgomery, Ala

  • Let me correct myself. Audrey Mae Sheppard was Hank Jr,s Mother. I have been to there grave it is beautiful. They are both buried in Montgomery Ala. along with Hank sr. mother. Sorry for the mistake.

  • um actuall y jean shepard is still alive. she is my grandmother... and she has only had three children.hawkshaw jr.(my uncle),don hawkins(my dad),and cory hawkins(my uncle)

  • Great. I saw her live in the early 80s. She put on quite a show. Thanks

  • Wrong. This shot was at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, made by Albert Gannaway for a syndicated TV show.

  • where does your info come from? mine comes from the background and the tag in more info.i don't know anything about this syndicated tv show.maybe they shot scenes at both locations. this is the set of louisiana hayride, not ryman auditorium set of opry.

  • wOOF, 3wOOF jHowl.

  • thats not opry!tyis was filmed at louisiana hayride from shreveport la. a lot of great stars played there stars such as hank williams, marty robbins, jim reeves to name a few, carl smith posting is also hayride, not opry

  • don't forget Elvis Presley was on the hayride before it was on tv.

  • a lot of people aren't aware the opry is and always was a radio show, not a tv show, although they did televise for awhile. the hayride was a tv show. i think it was on the radio also. i'm going to check it out on wikipedia.

  • just great country,thanks
