very very difficult exercise but from a point and beyond it's just lower back and one that dont add to the lower back at all so its just waste of energy..it's like bench pressing and at the same time lifting your feet up and down for lower abs.so unless there's a specific reason there's no point in torturing your self.hams of course get tremendous intensity and i repeat that im not trying to underestimate the effort but i wonder, why don't you do some deadlifts instead
I have to do a makeshift kind of glut ham raise using a lat pull down machine. I don't have the equipment at my gym to put a new seat..i have to use the lat pull down seat.
My knee cap..or joint or something seems to go out of place or "pop" out as i'm doing them ..and it feels uncomfortable..is this normal ??or am I positioned incorrectly ?
@UltimateThrilla The way he does it, it's actually easier than putting the weights against his chest. He has the weights slightly lower than where they'd be if he was holding them against his chest, lowering the necessary torque to do one rep. The hardest way to do these would be holding the weights with your hands outstretched over your head.
Either way, these are hard to do so major props to him.
I've never seen this before. I'm suprised my track or wrestling coaches never thought of making us do these. Looks like a good one to increase overall pulling strength amd stamina.
thats a really cool setup man. Might use your idea to do those. I'm suffering from an imbalance in the glute and hamstring area so this would be great!
I just started doing this exercise 2 months ago, it's pretty intense, especially when you do the reps with perfect form. I havn't made it to holding weight yet.
my gosh man, that is truly amazing. are those not considered harrop curls though? maybe same thing. anyways, i always have to do a little pushup when i get to the ground just to get back up. i'm not in bad shape, but clearly nothing like you. soon enough though!
Sorry I meant 6 years, DAMN!! Lol

deadlifts are both effective for hams And lower back.

Why do you hold the weights out to the side versus against your chest?
UltimateThrilla 3 years ago 5
well obviously because I'm a pansy and not a real man
