my hamster used to do that but she always followed me around like a dog lol..goes to show hamsters are inteligent and can be very loyal..my hamsters name was lucie bless her soul .. id let her have a walk around in the living room with tubes ( bit like a obsticle course ) she'd never run off..at mo i got foxy .. she dosent quite trust me enough yet 4 me to do that..i think some hamsters are more loyal than others though, diffrent personalitys etc..cute,smart hamster :)

u should get a ball with a cover that actually works!!! and for the other people with hamsters that can open their cage door, you should get a cage with a lock that actually works, or those metal cages that have doors where opening handle is a bit inside and also slanted. THOSE doors hamsters can NEVER open. ever.

@MsnGirlie The hamster was definitely not in panic. Do you even have your own hamsters? He was just opening the lid with his teeth, but he was relaxed about it, not frantic about it at all. If you read body language, you can learn a lot.

Exercise balls aren't mean, they allow the hamster to run around without getting lost. My hamster once took a nap in hers.
