That is not what happened. Last time I killed the brain I mind controled the 4 etherials to drop their guns and form up ina line in fron tof the brain.
what's with the laugh? It's like those guys were only sitting in that god damn Avenger while others went through hell with psi attacks from all the Ethereals on the second floor.
they have 4 xcom games they dont make any more there is ufo aftermath series thats pretty close and a turn based game like xcom is ufo extraterrestrial thats made in 2007 closest to xcom but nothin can be as good as origonal xcom's
I never did use the "canon" method to destroy the alien brain (namely plasma it with a soldier). I always blaster bomb it from underneath, or mind-control the aliens into doing it themselves. Closest I did was to have a soldier holding a live grenade in one hand, and rushed to the brain while being gunned down by reaction fire of the 4 Etherals. Kaboom!
Note to viewers II: X-Com REAL veterans are known for using Mind Control and raiding the Martian Alien Base using the aliens, ending the mission in one turn.
One-man squads without power suits/flying suits aren´t veterans, are just guys who never really played the game, still don´t know how to play and think they are "veterans".
*Alien Mind-Controls the so-called "veteran". "Veteran" puts a laser pistol (yeah, so lame uh? Research didn´t get past that) to his head and pulls the trigger.*
Aw, come on. It isn't like you can't train an ubersoldier. All you need, is a high mind resistance factor. From then on, the guy (if he will survive), will be unstopable.
Damn straight, once you got hold of proper psi-amps you didn't NEED soldiers; you had the aliens and they'd become your new expendable friends, buddies, soldiers and... when you're through with them; mobile bombs.
ye i totally remember now. T'leth was the mothership/city, and I remember there being a beam coming from cydonia at the start of the cutscene. Although there dusnt seem to be a vid on youtube of it.
God i remember this game from when i was a kid. I got to the point rite b4 the final mission, it saved and corrupted itself :( This makes me want to play it again :P Good job finishing the game 2
OMG... I've beat this game countless times and this is the ending I've never seen. I've always played this for the computer and seen the text ending lol. Nice.

Note to viewers - X-com veterans are known to send one-man squad without any protection suits. :)

Actually, Gufu probably forgot to mention that the one man in coveralls is ALWAYS holding a Psi-Amp in his hand.
Of course, with an entire squad of psi-amp soldiers, you could end the final mission in 1 turn... much shorter than getting past the green pyramids.

Got to love the soldiers laughter at the end!
I've never knew there was a remake of X-Com on the PS1, nor that there was another ending. Awesome!

o yea my memories a little rusty. Was it called T'leth?
Malcolm2400 4 years ago
Also whats with the beams coming out the eyes? Is it shooting at the ship or sum sort of distress signal?
Malcolm2400 4 years ago
A activation signal to a long dormant ship on earth, see the opening of xcom:terror from the deep for its effects.
