  • amazing work

  • Wow well done

  • This film was really well done.

  • that tree looks like "the thing" monster

  • The animated tree puppet adds a lot to the story. She moves like the tree in the book.

  • Dam,that tree is fucking scary!

  • tree looks like its gonna kill him

  • of all the giving tree films, this one is my favorite. it has a great imaginative aspect about it that sets it apart and reminds me of my mind as a child... but, i don't think they captured the mother-son relationship that touched me.

i think people should be less critical. it's such a short, but profound story. a lot of the story lies between the pages... in the blank spaces. it's all about interpretation.

  • lol tin foil coil

  • it almost feels like the forest is inside...

Why does it look like the boy is going inside when he opens to door?

  • this movie sucks

  • scary tree

  • I love this version. Waiting for a copy to be sent so I could show it at school. Love you!

  • This was SCARY! great book though

  • this was...

    stupid.

    my favorite book though.

    =]

  • i love the book. this was such a nice video.

  • I kept waiting for the tree to eat the boy or something.

I love the book, this video kinda freaked me out. It had the lighting of a horror movie and the vegetation reminiscent of Little Shop Of Horrors.

In the book, the tree was a tree and the boy was a boy. You can put whatever message you like with it.

Personally I consider it rather propitiative of the tree. There could have been much better accord including offspring of the apple tree and the boy.

    Sadness is its draw...

  • something to be regretted or despised, however; it is what makes giving (and receiving) possible. The more you blame the boy, the more you have to fault human existence. The more you blame the tree, the more you have to fault the very idea of parenting. Should the tree's giving be contingent on the boy's gratitude? If it were, if fathers and mothers waited on reciprocity before caring for their young, then we would all be doomed. "

  • Is this a sad tale? Well, it is sad in the same way that life is sad. We are all needy, and, if we are lucky and any good, we grow old using others and getting used up. Tears fall in our lives like leaves from a tree. Our finitude is not

  • Loved it however why was it so dark??

The tree was the world the boy was humanity taking and destroying so sellfishly and the world still loved the boy. "Unconditional love" Such good tidings..

  • aww, i loved this so much^^

  • sad but good book. sob

  • love it

  • great book.... poor direction!

  • beautiful =)
