@DKC1011 There is no malware included in the LNP. However, some over-eager antivirus programs might indentify older versions of DFHack as malware, as they read and modify your memory in order to interact with dwarf fortress. Don't be scared :)

@BluePBoxProductions Well, Minecraft was inspired by Dwarf Fortress (among some other games), so it's propably not right to say that DF has elements of MC. I would rather say Minecraft has elements of Dwarf Fortress minus the elements of Civilization :)

Okay, i DL the LNP but, when i start it up, it does not have the same screen as yours. Its not showing the version, it has an option 'About DF' which is not on your screen. Am i doing something wrong?

I've wanted to start playing Dwarf Fortress for a while, but I was always too intimidated/overwhelmed by my sheer lack of knowledge to ever actually try and do anything in it. If the rest of this series is anything like this first video, though, I think I can overcome my fears and actually play this game sometime! All you newbies out there to this game this is the best tutorial you can use to learn this game dont be discouraged because the interface is hard in the beginning once you learn the interface of the game the true colors of the game comes out...great game

My first search got me a place called "The Sacrificial Lake of Style" and honestly I wanted to build there but there weren't any trees or vegetation in the area. But at least it was a tropical lake with mirthful surroundings!

i use the gemesis mod, i do some small mods (editing raws) myself, and reunpack when the file corrupts :P

I also use the LazyNewbPack[0.31.10][V3.2], and I'm enjoying it so far, but the military system is very different from the vanilla game, and thus more confusing at first, so it requires more practice.

@sVirus The next LP will be for Men of War, a buggy but outstanding WW2 RTS game. It has all kinds of rad things for autists too!
