When you solder, the "fumes" or "smoke" you see is actually the flux boiling off. Do a bit of research, and you will find that flux fumes have not caused cancer or death. Some people do develop reactions to it, headaches, and may agitate asthma. The fumes do NOT contain lead, silver, or any other "metals", because soldering temperatures are not high enough to cause lead to boil.
