Why is the trainer using shock collars on spaniels? With no training, every spaniel I've had sprinted on every retrieve and had no problem marking 40-50 yards. The cocker jogged on the retrieves and the springer didn't mark. Whether good or bad, they are not labs. Collars break the spirt of spaniels. You should train without them if you want a dog that hunts like a real spaniel.
