My guess is he was building the Bunkers to distract the guy into thinking he was gonna win...all the while Red was getting WAY more minerals than Blue

Both players were noobs. This strategy was poorly executed and poorly defended. You don't just go build a bunker without at least one marine. And if you see your opponent building a bunker, just kill it with a few SCVs, or kill the marines that are going to go in it. AND DON'T EVER LIFT OFF TO MOVE TO THE GOLD... lol, first sign of noob right there. By the time you get there, any decent player has scouted you and is eons ahead in unit production. Game over.

The only problem is if he actually scouted :P I've done this same strat several times and whenever they scout at the regular time they can typically use their economic advantage to easily get a win / defend. However this strategy is by far my favorite cheese :) + Have you ever thought about lifting off to the floating islands in Scrap Yard? I've tried it but failed several times. I was wondering if you had any success / tried that strategy. + Nice video and good choice of song.

earlier tonight someone tried to do this to me, it failed because of one bunker a half dozen marines and a medivac, and then when i built a single thor, defended my base, then medivac lifted it to his base and destroyed it using m.u.l.e.s to repair

I wonder if the high yield makes up for having no mining in the first minute and 2 less mineral patches to mine from. I have a feeling you can get a similar marine count from your original base. This strat is very all-in too, as high yield bases dry out fast

blizzard should really put destructable rocks on each and every goldmineral spots its scoutable *alast when u see ur enemy is on none if the 1-3 spots possible and it only works on sertain maps but its still almost a freewin strat wich makes it pretty cheap.. almost like the old 4 pool sc 1.07 i think it was.. xD 150 minerals for pool "priceless"
