Hi, yes the temperature is normal, sadly? this sort engines has a opening point of the thermostat of 105 celsius...so a high working temp, that was done (all M62) for environment...the engine runs a bit cleaner then? all or most based M62 has that, though by using other temp-gauge? you don't think of that :-) and most have only 286hp...thats why also mine has a oil-cooler and more cooling space in front.
The S62 with almost the same set-up open at 76 celsius I believe, so yes its normal.
no, its the same engine as used in the last 3 Ascari Ecosse 5.0 wich were made by Hartge and Hartge kept this one for this car, wich was used to develop that engine.
so its faster then the engines they also sold at that time.
but the base for this 5.0 is a 02-1998 M62B44 just as that was the base for the S62 M5.
