@jeancruz01 There is no free energy. This device outputs most of it's input as heat. the rest is the spark you see.

I suppose this is still a tesla coil, but not in the conventional sense.

What's being done here is to alternate power into the L/C circuit, which looks like it's tuned, and that will oscillate at the Freq. Res. of the secondary, dying in power as it is lost by heat or slightly transferred into the secondary. How Some of the better coils work is by continuously oscillating at F. res

tufnaman, there is a primary and secondary coil. Your primary may be 24 volts, but I guarantee your secondary is like 10kv at least based on the air arc distance. Which is like 13kv per inch of arc in air. That is a requirement of electrical energy, in voltage to cause an arc across an air gap, 13kv per inch.

Some people might not want big sparks but may want to show different things with the tesla coil, this one could be fitted up to a frequency modulator or whatever it's called then you can make the teslacoil sing lol. This is an excellent first timers build aswell, may give you a nasty but less life threatening shock than a larger one.
