Do you'll listen to the words he's not dissing Africa at all and speaks about it from a Pan-African prospective saying they are rich in history and all that good stuff. Knaan even on the remix and do you think he would diss himself as a native African. All the dumb people here don't know what they are talking about.
"africa must wake up." sounds completely devoid of empathy and borderline racist. i hate to say that because nas is probably my favorite rapper. oh well, that's why i like. may not always agree, but at least he's thought-provoking.
@akaskyscraper it is not racist, the last thing that is going to help Africa is telling them that they are different.... or that they are not yet up to the Par of the West.... i think this song is a good way at looking at a area that is need of a time of refection.... NAS is trying,,,, i highly doubt this song will do anything but good, thought-provoking is what Africa needs!
@diceyLee when you put the people of an entire continent into one group, it just sounds dumb. generalizations (unless in mathematics or something) are always inaccurate. i don't think africa needs to "wake up" at all. i think certain individuals may need to, but not everyone on the entire continent. i don't see how talking down on africa is helpful.
@diceyLee there was nothing factually incorrect about what i said. and before all i did was express my opinion. your emotionally charged statements and incoherent sentences speak volumes. you obviously don't know how to deal w/ differences in opinion.

@akaskyscraper AFRICA MUST WAKE UP, i will simply put the whole of africa into a single category on the simple fact most of africa is un-educated, starving and not without plenty of diseases which are doing anything but slowing down, they dont yet have the education or political system " to be awake " and im fairly certain most of their religions are some what mythological based which will also mean 95% of the time they are with lack of theory of consciousness, so yeh wake up
@phaba1W what are you basing your analysis on ? any studies ? have you got any kind of academic research to back up what you are saying,, give examples am always amused when i see your type of statements as you have now catagorised us as pygmies living in mud huts, with pot bellies and no education to speak off ..funny is am writing this as an african and obviously its in english so something must be wrong here? oh dear.. ..lol!
@farabale01 your writing this in english as an african or as an englishman who once came from africa? i generalise africa as all being the same because this benefits africa not me....if you claim africa is developed then it doesnt need any aid from anyone else, however if it isnt yet developed on the whole (as i claim) then there is always room for improvement on many fundamental issues such as politics, business, social care and education, or wait, am i wrong? is africa more developed than US?
@phaba1W africa is NOT A COUNTRY ... you might like to travel to one or more of the FIFTY THREE COUNTRIES on the CONTINENT ..if you are not sure what a continent is well, in the AMERICAS there is more than ONE COUNTRY , AMERICA IS ONE OF THEM .. there are other countries, in NORTH AMERICA AND SOUTH AMERICA .. you might like to check your maps for those too. that is a disingenous question and beggars belief... since africa isnt a country it cannot be answered in that way..
@phaba1W maybe you should check "blacks without borders" where black americans have settled in SOUTH AFRICA which is a country by the way . americans on the whole black and white know nothing of the outside world and i understand world geography isnt taught in your public school systems.. we take education very seriously and being articulate is not considered to be a "white thing" as we have our own languages as well as english or french which are common languages accross the board.
@phaba1W You really don't know what you are talking about. 1. not all africans are uneducated, 2. africa can't be lumped into one category, the continent is fucking huge and contains many different ethnicities, religions, customs, ways of life. 3. it is europeans' fault that Africa is the way it is. They came in and exploited it for their own personal gains leading to the impoverishment that can be seen in many former colonized regions
@akaskyscraper Also, im not trying to infer africa is any less able, im saying they dont have the same building blocks most educated people build from when basing opinions on things and such. I also believe 80% of western society needs to wake up in many philosophical and political matters, africa just seems so far behind in comparison, so 1 step at a time huh, also in relation to racism in general, africa must wake up to prove the racists wrong, as all racists do is screw up modern society =D

Black man and woman are the father and mother of all people. Blackness is life. The color of the universe/space, the dark soil of the earth. This is not racism or hatred towards caucasians. No, just understanding. Carbon is the blackness of creation. Nothing could be without it. Blackness is absorption of all light and color. Morning and evening starts with darkness. Alpha and Omega. Black man and woman. God and Godess. Balance is everything, still. Spirit is more than flesh.

@VictimOfBoredom Peace But all religions do derive from Africa. For instance, Buddhism is usually considered to be an Asian religion. But it came from Africa, to India, then to the Far East. Christianity was in Africa before the European Crusades. Christian churches in Ethiopia long before the Vatican. I mean, centuries before. But, still, keep in mind that with all the diverse religions, with their divisions and sub-divisions(denominations), there's strong similiarity. Spirituality
The human species originated from Africa, but don't confuse that and try to say that all religions come from Africa. Most of the monotheistic religions come from the middle east. And Buddism is based on an Indian philosopher, it is an Eastern religion, it started in India. Did Taoism hail from Africa? Shinto? Mormonism? Scientology? It's pathetically ignorant to try and tie all religions to Africa, many religions started in completely different parts of the globe.
@Psychelectric From the begining it's been One, coming from One. One is the 1st. All people in essence are one, the 1st. All religions have strong similarity, the common thread. It's the same in essence, regardless of the name(s). Black man and all the Earth's 7 continents were(are) one. Black man trod the whole Earth from ancient. Black was the only in the begining. Everyone else come from Black. The original, pure idea - Black. Check the 1st depictions of Buddha - Black.
@Psychelectric The Origin remains in its offspring. And as it was in the begining, so shall it be in the end. Same come around again. All things are interconnected, and the 1st is the essence that keeps all. The 1st is even without begining. Was always, is always, will always. The strength of the whole Earth and its inhabitants is Blackness. The whole Universe- black.
Are you a black power, white devil kind of racist who fails to understand anything about theology, sociology, anthropology, and the origin of the human species and genetic diversity?
Black people have more pigmantaion to their skin, there is nothing holy or sacred about that, it's just their genetic makeup. Also religions spawned from people, Shinto is not African, nor is Tao, nor is Buddism, and Buddha was Indian. Indian people are tan but they are not black.
By your logic, white people are just really pale black people.
In truth the human species has wide diveristy in genetic expression. It's why we all look different. We are all human beings, but as far as our genetic makeup goes we are all unique. Why do people harp on skin color so much, the idea is pathetic. What about hair color, or eyes or any other genetic quality that makes us unique or for a change we can judge man by the content of his character rather than . . .
I'm Sri Lankan, and my ancestors will vouch for the wrath of the white man, if they can speak from their sacred graves. We are still struggling to revive after a 30 year old wound called terrorism and the cultural white wash performed by the colonialists, who robbed all our treasures and shipped them to the Buckingham Palace. Thankfully we are blessed by the teachings of the Lord Buddha, so we are doing ok.GREAT ALBUM! small correction Nas, Africa is NOT the origin of all the world religions.
@DippySippy First buddha was black? where da hell do u learn ur buddhism? wise up, in this aeon( called the 'Bhadra' aeon) there will be five enlightened ones. Gautama buddha is the fourth, 'Maitree Buddha will be the next( in 1920 Million years), theres no such idea called the first buddha, coz buddhism is not based on the hollow fact that existnce of the universe had an absolute starting point, there were infinte n.o buddhas before gautama and there will be infinte n.o after,in the future.
@mostwantend am sure u meant fuck dem babylonians...coz zion is di MOTHER LAND...AFRICA. BABYLON where de slave drivers dem are!!!! but yeah mi get ya point AFRICA JAH LOVE,AFRICA RISE UP . babylon live by greed n pride and him who blinded by pride got NUMBERD DAYS...JAH BLESS
you these fucking lil wayne haters are discouraging people to buy this album...OMG,,,we Africans are known for loving each other..i dont know what am going to call this,,,racism or what??u these lil wayne haters are just sick...you jst keep on hating and he continues making it there...PLEASE LIL WAYNE HATERZ,,,LEAVE US TO BUY THIS ALBUM,,,STOP DISCOURAGING US..
@lambumustapha im buying the album but not cause of wayne i dont hate him i just hate his music his horrible come on "im in ur face like men cum" thats just gay and has nothing to do with what he was saying b4 hand u cant possibly buy into the hype and think his the best rapper alive he sucks
People who want to skip a song because of one or two verses from Wayne or whoever are totally missing the point. This is the greatest colloboration with the greatest creative thoughts brought together, don't miss out on their input because of your personal preferences.
......"Sleeping sons of Jacob." Africa, the home of all the WORLDS religions. it seems to me that not only Africa must wake up but the world itself needs to, as well.

Psychelectric 1 year ago
@nazarene1

Thankfully we are blessed by the teachings of the Lord Buddha, so we are doing ok.GREAT ALBUM! small correction Nas, Africa is NOT the origin of all the world religions.
silerage 1 year ago
@silerage Africa is the foundation of all world religions , True the first budha was black and the first chinise empire was black
DippySippy 1 year ago
@DippySippy First buddha was black? where da hell do u learn ur buddhism? wise up, in this aeon( called the 'Bhadra' aeon) there will be five enlightened ones. Gautama buddha is the fourth, 'Maitree Buddha will be the next( in 1920 Million years), theres no such idea called the first buddha, coz buddhism is not based on the hollow fact that existnce of the universe had an absolute starting point, there were infinte n.o buddhas before gautama and there will be infinte n.o after,in the future.
silerage 1 year ago
@silerage R u damb fam, lets not even talk about budda , research who were the first indians ,

@DippySippy Oh and btw, Don't cling on to every little thing that rappers say, do your own research before starting to believe in anything.

People who want to skip a song because of one or two verses from Wayne or whoever are totally missing the point. This is the greatest colloboration with the greatest creative thoughts brought together, don't miss out on their input because of your personal preferences.

WHY WOULD NAS WANT WAYNE ON THIS?
djunsignedminor 1 year ago
@djunsignedminor
Dude, Wayne is a seriously skilled artist and musician
It would be an honor to work with that guy
No matter his style, he can still produce mad shit
Even if it isn't designed to teach or to lift up the kingdom of RasTafari
He still can put good sounding tracks together

"LIL WAYNE" IS on the "ALBUM"? What tha FUK?? That is why this album had so may release dates and never came out. Because the "Industry" wanted to do "Their Thing" wit it. A SATANIC REVISION!!
