@Myinstinct27 Yea, it would be a good choice. :) It's fairly nice. Although the webcam's a bit crappy, if you download a software like WebcamMax, it could be a little more decent. :)

That thing sucks compared to mine. Samsung Nc10.1 1Gig ram (2gig ram in mine) 160 HHD with partitioned backup (250SSD Available) On average around 4 hours battery life on full power after a year, battery is stable. 128 Graphics can be updated 1.60GHz dual core processor Yeh thats just under the power of a macbook pro of the same age and I am Running on XP: Cinema 4D Maya 3DStudio Max Adobe Master collection All run on it with 7 seconds loading time Aka mine pwns this.

@fredb3 Your netbook does not have a dual-core processor, it uses the same Atom N270 as the Eee 1005HA does (not upgradeable). RAM can be upgraded on most netbooks, including the 1005HA. Battery life is better on the 1005HA (8-10hrs). Graphics can not be upgraded on netbooks; there's no room for a card. The Eee 1005HA has a bigger hard drive as standard. The Samsung NC10 costs around £100 more than the 1005HA. Both are less powerful than a MacBook. Now, what pwns what? :)

Says it's got 2 when I check it on my stats might be partitioned, all I see id it's got 2 cpus on my diagnostics ma bad then.

My graphics is running at 128Mb Which enough for the programs I use and your right the storage is a bit smaller.

I can't find the graphics spec online for the Eee 1005HA, if it is 128mb or higher then I stand corrected ^.^ if not then I can't use any of the list of programs I mentioned and it would be useless for me.

Other wise I see a trade in soon. xD

Update Yeh it has the same graphics chipsset by the looks of thing may get me self an upgrade the It depends cos I want an SSD Netbook because I hear they run pretty damn fast and the don't suffer verheating as much. what do you recon too soon? the netbook I got is pretty much everything I need atm. Had it for like a year.

@fredb3 I wouldn't bother getting a new one yet. Solid State Drives do tend to be faster, and are less susceptible to mechanical breakdown, but only allow 100,000 writes approx. to each sector on the disk. Overheating isn't normally a problem with hard drives. Besides, at the end of the day, a netbook is only for light usage, and shouldn't need lots of memory, graphics, or a large hard drive (unless you have a big music collection!)

True enough, bonuses dun really outweight the costs lol litterally they cost a fortune.

I do use it heavily, I am a 3D modeller and designer, but I have about 9 years of experience so I know loads of tricks to keep models simple xD

I got by pretty good I did my design degree final year on this thing so I have to say the NC10 is a god little netbook for designers.

The Eee PC would be logical upgrade

@TheRunning4life I've had one of these before. For a laptop of its size, the battery life is amazing. Music and video plays fine - it's a 1.6Ghz processor, it's not going to struggle with things like that, however it wouldn't perform well playing 3D games.

Can it handle video, 20+ windows opened at the same time? I was looking for CAPABILITY, not just ABILITY. If it's prone to Not Responding with heavy use, Id much rather know this instead of whether or not it has a user-friendly bightness function. Show us this unit in action. Thx again

Ah I see what you mean. All netbooks are the same which is why I don't really go into that for every netbook. If you've used one netbook - you've used them all. That is somethig I need to write about though.

20+ windows is fine - you would just need 2GB RAM instead.

you can't play HD youTube (or 720p / 1080p videos in general)

Hulu performance is said to be similar (I'm outside US can't confirm)

Netbooks aren't good for video conversion, or heavy number crunching activities (3D rendering etc)

@karedward Depends, the 1008HA uses a faster processor (it is 0.06 GHz faster) and has another shell which makes upgrading RAM hell compared to the 1005HA.

Yes, the Japanese white model is basically a high end 1005HA-P (10.5 hour battery) with a white screen bezel.
