  • I wonder if he's related to Harry?

  • @ipwinyou ha ha... ha ha... ha no.

  • It seems to be expensive technique. I would use ultrasonic bath with cleaner.

Even steel chemical polishing will work as well.

  • this doesnt help me! ARRRRRRRGGGHHH!

  • How much would a dealer charge to bead blast some surface rust from a revolver

  • @ChristianEastern try car cut and polish on it first

  • also it would be best not to touch fresh metal or bare metal with your bare hands... oil from your hands will impead the finnish from correcty coating not to mention almost instantly rust...

  • I WANT ONE!!!

  • Thats too cool. :) :P

  • cant you soak a gun in something to get the rust off..and what is it?

  • Birchwood Casey makes a blue and rust remover which works a treat (and costs less than a blasting cabinet). noxious smell, known to cause birth defects, take all safety precautions - but it'll take any rust right off. google it. please note, it'll strip off bluing too - stuff doesn't discriminate!

  • For metal parts, I use Parks Prep and prime (Phosphoric acid). Its used to etch the metal for painting so I do not recommend it for guns but it gets nicely rusticated parts spic and span. The metal is left a nice gray color with no rust.

I just got a sandblaster the other day and I am amazed how well it cleans stuff and it does it lickety split! (jaw dropped) Now, I need a cabinet...should have picked one up at the same time.

  • CLR cleaner, but be careful, and 0000 steel wool of sand paper
