It has been reported to eat baby birds, some say it doesn't because they never saw it. Just because I don't do something everyday doesn't mean I don't do it. As far as mice and other vertebrates; the Smithsonian says they eat them too...I would believe them over you.

@logipi79 Tarantulas and spiders are two different orders of magnitude. Literally; tarantula are a ton bigger. They also tend to live in a much more specific range of climates than spiders do. They're both arachnids, but still different species.
