Wow my mom had a 2005 Ford Explorer and she hit a Guard Rail and FlipOver 7 times, Only a couple Bruises but the roof didn't cave in or nothing it held her like a Vault!
ehhh.. I wouldn't go by this test completly, I mean, Generally in a typical Rollover accident, your vehicle rolls onto it's side first making contact, then rolls onto the roof from there usually keeping contact with the ground the whole time. In this test, the initial impact was on the driver's side corner of the roof, which would only happen if the vehicle veered off an Embankment, which usually the ground would be at an angle not Level like this test.
I thought American Steel are tough but now it seems they drive your head into the body with rollovers. Volvo is good but I wonder how Merc and Bimmer will fare with similar tests.
see how thecage bent, its not much but if a car hit u at 20,000 pounds of force it would cave in the door and most likely kill you. (20,000 pounds woulds be about 50 miles hr)
That is the whole point of the TEST - to simulate with an unforgiving road surface - ANYWAY - like you have control over what will happen in a real accident ?
wow your a dumb ass just think about. in a real accident the car is rolling under its own power as in it can land in any way possible. most likely its not going to roll like this
