yeah...if they were still with the Yanks, at least they would have a ready made fan base, vs the SF Giants..its still good to see Baseball w/o going to Boston or NYC...
The Double A All Star game @Dodd stadium, at least made State wide news...most advertising the Defenders have received...and all due to FOG on game day...
i think if they want to draw a larger crowd they dont need to just change the affiliate but maybe a better stadium location i mean dodd stadium is in the middle of fricken nowhere!!
i know i always thought if they put it in Groton it would make more sense they could put it in a better place and the name defenders or navigators would make sense because then they would actually be closer to the coast guard and u would actually see navigator ships
The nite i was there, a bus load of prolly Coast Guard Cadets was getting ready to leave..the Rock Cats seem to be good in filling their stadium, even tho they are no longer an affilate of the Red Sox..Would the Defenders fill Dodd if their affilate was the Yankees??..or is it just a bad location..
i think the rock cats get a lot of sell outs because the stadium is in downtown new britian theres other things to do after the game u cant really do that in norwich

yeah, driving,driving, AND driving thru an industrial park to get to the stadium isnt the best....I guess mountain top land was cheaper!!!HA!!

The weather was great that day, but still nobody shows up....sad. If that team leaves after next year, I wouldn't be shocked.
