  • tammi and marvin went together like strawberries and cream

  • this song is magical <3

  • Luther& chery can sing just not this song

  • This song means so much to Gordon and Nadiyah. We sang this song to each other on our wedding day at Bethel A.M.E Church in Baltimore Md. May 26th 2007

  • This is my favorite classic song by these two best recording artist and I can recall when I first Found this song my mother taught us to flip and listen to both sides of the record and I called The radio station 2C if they could play it & with great success it was later authorized to play & it turned out to be everybody's favorite as well Today highly missed in the music world and unfortunately today most of the best music has been lost due to rap music, but I will remain their fan 4ever

  • Why we don't get great music any more? The Buggles - Video killed the radio star in 1979. Before video it didn't matter what you looked like as long as you had the talent, you were in. Now you have to be good looking, for the women at lest. They don't want any ugly people on the videos, net, etc. So we, all the music lovers come out on the bottom, we lose great music.

  • At 45 I'm still wondering how in the F*C* did great groups, voices,& entertainers like this get pushed aside for No singing,Talentless,Pretty faces, the thug image,auto-tune specialist, materialistic bullshit & voice modulator incorporating garbage of today? Not all are bad only about 85%. You don't even see or hear artist today collaborating on a LOVE SONG not fuck song, but LOVE SONG. This is the reason why I keep it 60's through 90's R&B,soul, funk, & hip-hop. Music today is all image, NO TALENT

  • @str8outtatexas1 thats a stretch dont you think, there are lots of awesome soul singers today and it would be a shame if people just pushed them aside because they didnt know they existed. raphael saddiq, melanie fiona, elle varner. theres so many that take a cue from the masters of this time and make good music today.

  • @str8outtatexas1 ...it's like Jake Burns from Stiff Little Fingers says in the song Strummerville "if the music all sounds the same it's because the companies got their way and all the young bands seem to say please turn my rebellion into money"...nuf' said

  • Whats up with all the comments being in all caps?

  • absolutely wonderful song, good feelings and energy. great tribute to LOVE!

  • I KNOW TIME CHANGES EVERYTHING,BUT HELL THERE SHOULD BE A WORLD LAW,THAT EVEN TIME CANT CHANGE THINGS UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG OR IS MADE. THIS MUSIC IS STILL THE BEST,EVEN IF TIME HAS MADE A MISTAKE !!!!! THE ARTIST AND SONGS TODAY,WILL NOT STAND UP TO THE TEST OF TIME. MOTOWN GAVE US SO MUCH AND THEN SOME THAT WILL LAST THROUGH OUT TIME !

  • haha remindz me of my ziz fukn ang n my neice lil puppet love you guys

  • I'm so sick of reading this Luther and Cheryl did it better crap- Marvin Gaye And Tammi Terrell own this version. No one will ever come close. No one

  • @74sodapop I heard Luther and Cheryl's first. But as good as the original is, Luther and Cheryl Lynn blew it over the top! Hands down.

  • @feeleffect1 i'm gonna say i love both. But just thinking about Marvin's and Tammi's stories makes me like this one more.

  • there should be no dislike button

  • Best Song To Dedicate To That Special Someone <3

  • This songs reminds me of Joker from AVLS RIP..Edgar I Will always remember you!! ANAHEIM ORANGE COUNTY!!

  • Fro yo!

  • the thing i hate about old songs is that they cute them too short!

  • @purplelove010 Radio played 3 minute songs, so it meant that you had to get to the meat and potatoes quickly. This song was written by Marvin. The songwriters at Motown, especially Smokey Robinson, were masters at telling stories in the 3 minute pop song format. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys was also brilliant at working within the constraints of 60's pop music.

  • ZULMA

  • Definitely has to be my wedding song. My all time favorite.

  • This jam is what LOVE is really about!!

  • tokimonsta brought me here <3

  • THE GREATEST "LOVE" OF HIS LIFE AND POSSIBLY THE GREATEST TRAGEDY [TAMMI'S DEATH] OF HIS LIFE! BOY DID THEIR DUETS EXPRESS THE DEEP AND FULFILLING RELATION THEY SHARED. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND THE FUN.TOM D. BRICK,NJ [AT THE SHORE].

  • Message to Beyonce ... Tammi Terrell has more class in her little finger than you'll EVER have . See back in the day , they didn't need to jump onstage half naked , spread their legs , dance in military cadence etc etc .. it was all bout the MUSIC !

  • @franz909 say it say it say it.

  • 18 people are deaf.

  • If the 18 people who disliked this only knew that she sang this from her deathbed, they would appreciate it a whole lot more......Tammy Terrell and I have similar stories, rape, abusive men, never giving up on singing....i love this woman and I wish someone would do a story on her life...

  • @saraijuelz There were a TV special on Tammy Terrell call Unsong.

  • @coolpeoples365....i know I saw it....this is when I fell in love with her even more, (no homo)....always loved her voice and her swag, but when I saw Unsung and saw that we've struggled with the same things, I was even more in awe of why she fought so hard to be heard.....

  • @saraijuelz There were a TV special on Tammy Terrell call Unsong.

  • tokimonsta

  • @n5743893 You think they'd enjoy her interpretation of this song?

  • man how i hate this song bt my gf made here it with her zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @Lui13331

I feel ya, but...LOL, still a great song!!!

  • /watch?v=wqXiNqoncvY

  • I just saw the Unsung show on Tammi Terrill. Very Sad. She was a true talent.

Oh, and lol @ people thinking that black women didn't wear fake hair back then. Ever hear of the Supremes? Yeah, they were forever wearing wigs. Even Tammi wore them. White women even wore them too.

I am not going to go there with your dumb ass other generalization of present day black women, because clearly the first one was idiotic.

  • wow i thought this song was only Luthur V's. Learn something new everyday

  • It's so beautiful.

  • beautiful song by two beautiful souls taken from us too soon :(

  • that show, unsung, definitely got me listening to tammi terrell!

  • she truly have a voice watch unsung.

  • damn how i love this song...

  • HOW MUCH MORE SEXIER CAN AN ORIGINAL GET...DIZ BLOWZ MY MIND WER MY UNDIEZ HIT DA GROUND....NICCCE

  • 16 fools who disliked the original! Any version is great! The sound is fantastic!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • This isnt music.... its beyond description. What talents they were. Keep the faith.

  • this is when black men and women were not enemies and there was no gender war. the songs were so full of love

  • @juseph29

this is when Black women didnt have Nasty attitudes & real hair : )

  • @nevawrong very true

  • @juseph29 indeed

  • @juseph29 what happened to that?? So sad

  • @juseph29 WOW!!! so true...

  • If you notice, the pictures used on the Unsung episode of Tammi Terrell were pictures of them when they were on the Tonight Show. Whoever decided to allow this video to be viewed knew they had it when the Unsung episode was recorded. The same pictures we are seeing of them singing Precious Love is either from The Joey Bishop Show or the Tonight Show. I sure hope someone decides to unlock the key on this footage.

  • love it...

  • that era was the era of fabulous music...never to be repeated. glad i was part of it! wouldnt trade one year.

  • There has never been anyone who ever created a sound with their voice on par with Marvin Gaye. Period. Teamed with Tammi....there was a special expression that seems to remain unique. It's nothing you can put your finger on...it just is.

  • I love how this song can be played both at your lowest low and your highest high

  • I remember when a neighbor of ours and my sisters played this song. They LOVED it and Motown's B sides were always hot sometimes better than the hit side. This is one of them. Marvin and Tammi would've jumped leaps and bounds had she lived longer. Ashford and Simpson were great being their writers/producers. I am not sure if this song is A and S but its a wonderful song.

  • He loved her so much - she was the one for him....such a shame what happened to her back then...

  • Before Luther and Cheryl, there was Marvin and Tammi. One of the best duets in the 20th century.

  • @awrealtor1 You got to admit, Luther and Cheryl did a hell of a job on the remake!

  • beautiful song. makes the world stop if only for a moment..

  • 634,812 of those views are mine C:

  • if this was mine.....? idk tell me wat u would do if this world was yours

  • WOW THIS IS HOT OMG OLD SCHOOL

  • Tammi Terrell was soooooo precious...

  • @chickie773 HELL YES!!! No one will ever come close to sound as sensational as Marvin or Tammi!! Some have tried, but just ain't the same, these two had Class.Talent,& Chemistry!!!!

  • 16 people who don't have a world.

  • PARA CECILIA..LA MAS LINDA DEL MUNDO...DE KIRO

  • I dedicate this song to my dear friends in AFGHANISTAN who are hoping American troops will pull out..and the extremist will lay down their guns and we can find PEACE and FREEDOM in SOLIDARITY of AFGHANIs....

  • @Taharah007 i understand you sentiment but the troops in afghanistan are making more than just war. we are training doctors and also the military, so that they wont need use anymore. they are trying to bring peace and freedom to afghanistan. you should be thanking them

  • this song isn't just for lovers its for anybody you've ever loved.its for parents to kids .kids to parents .friend to friend .it just makes me think of all the folk that i've loved and lost and also my own daughters and family that i've still got .its just an amazing song

  • @chickie773 the very first thing i'd do after giving you a knighthood for recommending it

  • tammi terrell reminds me of my first love.god we were good together .love u mary xx

  • @MistaBluSky Hell No! :-O

  • @chickie773

How Poetic, your response to this Song.

  • I just know when I get married, this is gonna be the song I have my first dance to. There's nothing better than Motown.

  • two people with awesomely beatiful voices and perfect chemistry

  • Her surgies were all surgeries on her brain. The doctors said that these tumors could have developed from when she was a child. She didn't die in Marvin's arms, she fainted. And that's when everyone realized her condition was getting worse! Got all my facts from TV One's "Unsung" Tammy had a beautiful story! So sad she died so young! Her death really affected Marvin!

  • Okay let's get the story right. Ever since Tammy was a child, she had constant head aches. They got worse the older she got! Her first boyfriend was james brown. He physically abused her the whole relationship! Sad cuz she was 17 when they first got together! Next at 20, she was with David Ruffin. They beat her as well. It was even reported that he beat her with a motorcycle helmet! at 23 she got married to a doctor. She died at 24 from her brain tumor. She had 8 surgies before her death.

  • @lighty10503 She Didnt Marry The Doctor They Were Engaged But She Died Befor They Could Get Married

  • A true bueaty R.I.P Tammi

  • my mom said tht she died on stage when they were singing a song and u know was eles she said Marvin gaye LOVED her but she was going to get married to some one eles she never knew he loved her so sad:(

  • @briannacook2000 David Ruffin Was Her Man Back Then,He Was SO JEALOUS Of Her And Marvin.I was Told He Used T o Beat On Her And She Had A Tumor Or Hemmorage On Her Brain That was The Cause Of Her Death.........Two Voices From God...........

  • @briannacook2000 She Didnt Die She Passed Out In Marvin's Arms Nd Then She Went 2 The Doctors Nd They Discovered She Had A Brain Tumor Nd She Started Gettin' Surgery Done On Her Brain Nd After 8 Surgeries She Died

  • shes so pretty!

  • Two greats taken too soon, far too soon.

  • It's time for a movie about the lives of these two great artist. I think that Maxwell is a prfect atch for Marvin. Would love to see this in the works.

  • Why doesn't this song last forever

  • This is such a beautiful song. Thank you for posting. It is hard to believe this song is on the B-side of the original 45.

  • @THELOCKNESS101 death? ....or deaf?

  • @KyplayaZ4lyfe Damn. Epic fail. I meant deaf.

  • @THELOCKNESS101 u mean deaf lol

  • alot of people dont talk about the smokey robinson version with the miracles...i like his the best personally~

  • Sharon Leal is the actress in "Dreamgirls" who replaced Jennifer Hudson's character, Effie. She has also been in several of Tyler Perry's, "....married" movies. She sings in real life. Her voice is soft, cute & not as soulful as Tammi's but she is beautiful like Tammi. She has the grace, confidence & feistiness that Tammi seemed to have. I nominate Sharon Leal!

  • I like Taraji P. Henson but I don't think she has the grace & elegance necessary to play the part of Tammi. Bill Condon, director of Dreamgirls could really pull this off. Hopefully, whoever decides to make this movie, will choose an actress who represents Tammi very well; someone who will do her justice. I'm sure Beyonce' would like the role as well. I think Sharon Leal would be great for the role, she seems to have the same elegant but feisty demeanor about herself that Tammi Terrel had.

  • I could see Beyonce & John Legend playing Tammi & Marvin ...

  • I love this song.

  • love ths song of all time

  • what time signature is this song in??? i can't tell lol

  • i envy those who were able to dance slow to this song.

  • NO Way, I just heard it, Cheryl Lynn cant Touch Tammy Terrell voice, their's is way too slow.. no passion in Luther anfd Cheryl's version....

  • Ashford and Simpson said on Unsung that Tammy had to come in later when she was feeling better, she was very weak when Marvin sang his part on the scheduled day. Valarie Simpson sang Tammy's part with Marvine and When Tammy was feeling better she came in and sang her Part. But you are right,[good ear] because Tammys voice at that time was not quite up to snuff... but still soooo beautiful. No Doubt if she wasnt sick she Had the Best vioce[ female] at Motown.Plus, Those eyes, she was soo sexy...

  • WE ALL CANNOT FORGET WHO WE ALL SERVE IS JESUS ,HE GAVE MAN WISDOM DOMINION OVER THIS EARTH !

  • I'd give the flowers the birds and the bees

And it'd be your love beside me

That would be all I need

    If this world were mine

    I'd give anything

  • Maravilosa essa Música,

  • Luther and Cheryl Lynn tore this up but I still love this version.

  • I watched "Unsung" last month and tears were rolling down my cheeks. Taraji Henson needs to play Tammi Terrell in a biopic. The two are so much like each other. This is the closest they can get. When that finally happens, Taraji will get a Golden Globe and and Oscar. This part is made for Taraji.

  • I love this song!!

  • I love all you all who love this kind of music

  • @ primia1 I agree totally don't she look like she could b her daughter (Taraji)

  • @primia1 i thought i was the only one who thought they looked just alike!!!

  • they should make a movie telling their story both personal and professional since they are intertwined. I wish they could have made it as a couple but there was too much turmoil.

  • best song ever i love tammi terrell.!!:)

  • old enough to have danced slow to this song memories ah

  • While watching "Unsung" I was suprised to know that Ashford and Simpson has written such much music for so many. After hearing this music for so many years I just never knew it who actually wrote these songs.

  • i love tammi

she is sexy and fun and real, i wish she was still here and marvin too.

    pl

  • Awesome Awesome song & artist!!!!!

  • this song is groovy. especially the last part, "gimme plenty lovin', baby, gimmie plenty lovin', honey, keep on lovin' me" and so on until it goes off. love it.

  • It's hard to believe she was only 24 when she died, because she had a maturity in her singing style that was well beyond her years.

  • is so sad how james brown and other men's in her life use to hit on her, big time. :-(

I grew up to these Great singing stars.they both will be missed, very much.

  • all it took was for me to hear this song one time and then... I feel in love with it....

  • Luther and Cheryl were great but Tammi and Marvin were so easy and luving. You can feel it. Nobody voice is has enchanting has Tammi. If you don't believe me listen to All I do by Tammi

  • Its amazing they ever made any music...how were they not hooking up during every recording session?

  • When I heard her do the A Capella on Unsung last night of this song, all the hairs on my back raised up. Her voice was too gorgeous. Eargasm<33

  • I love me some Luther and cheryl but they didnt do this song justice..They slowed it down and over sang this song..KUDOS to Marvin and Tammi..I will take this rendition any day.

  • @pinky8465 AMEN to That, You Cant touch this version...nuf said....

  • @jjs499 The real pity is that their is hardly any live Footage of Tammy and Marvin, ..What could they have been thinking,? They had to have Known That she was Special...What a great oversight... On The "Unsung special" there was a little more live foootage , but not Much...Shame on Motown....

  • i love dis song

  • I wonder why the haven't made a movie about her life?????

  • @momhalsmok They just showed a story on her life on "Unsung" on TVONe.

  • @Rosesdiamond14 i saw dat
