There is some evidence (if only anecdotal) that people who enjoy dressing up as women could be gay - the parent is reinforcing the behaviour.

There could be 6 different factors that make someone into what we recognize as gay...

Plus people's definition of nurture varies a lot... there's a statistic that has a higher occurence of gay men in men with many older brothers... because the mother develops a resistance to the male hormones from the older male sibblings and produces an excess of estrogen. (Or something of that nature)

That is just one of the possible reason why someone turns out gay.

@gary83uk There's plenty of evidence out there that rejects your #2 thought. Kids who are never exposed to any kind of homoeroticism find out that they are gay later in life and realize they knew it all along even though they "nurtured" themselves to be straight.

There is nothing inherently unpositive about being gay unless you're religious, and even there, the authority of the Bible is highly questionable given its many authors, translations, insertions, deletions, and many contradictions.

Gender is a Social Role, we all learn to be Men or Women, and when men identify themselves sexually with women, they see how sexy their own sex is and they become gay. Its a process, just like we learn to be heterosexual, we learn to fit in our social roles. The first socialization happens in the first 7 years of life. But there is two parts to it, what we are shown and how we interpret it, gays arent tought to be gay, its their take on things that is different.
