Israel's artillery isnt very advanced. at least not as some of its other corps. the howitzer is the old M109 and the shells are the same HE, both from from the 70's.

no weapon in the would can determine in the object it hits is armed or not and when those terrorists launched their rockets they knew Israel will fire back.
