  • The were in Topeka, KS last weekend but I didn't get the chance to see them.

  • Its interesting how they do that song.

  • this song was written about my dads girlfriends older sister. when they sang it for the first time they had her come up on stage while they sang it to her. yes this song is true and her name is really bobby sue. haha that rhymed :)

  • Richard Sterban was with J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet before joining the OAk Ridge Boys. In case you don't know, J.D. and the Stamps (with Richard) backed up Elvis in the 70's.

  • I don't like it. I LOVE IT! The Oaks hit #12 in Billboard, 3-20-82. God bless ya, Oaks! Thanx, Bob, for postin' it. Have a great week.

  • Catch their debut of this one on the Johnny Carson Show, it's even better! I had a Bobbie Sue once a long time ago, she's in my heart and can never go away.

  • I love Bobbie Sue.

    Thanks for posting this video.

  • @ominousinc -He's not a baritone.....he's a bass

  • Nobody can class up a tux like William Lee Golden!!

  • Bobbie Sue very good Oak Ridge Boys kinda fallow up hit to there 1981 hit Elvira then they had a hit with this one good group one of my favs of all time and there still out there going at it so cool

  • You really must have the brain of a gnat, or perhaps you're 14 years old and raised by savages. Either way, it would be appreciated if you could speak English and not be so self- centered . Kids should be able to watch an oak ridge boys video without reading your foul language. It's really that simple.

  • @wafflecopter1000 Hilarious!

  • Waffle, keep your dumb comments to yourself. Kids use this site, too, and they don' t need to read your stupid comments.

  • 1982 Wild Bills Orange, TX Alice

  • Awsome boots that grizzly adams is wearing.

  • This is a great song. It has a great up beat and I love haering Richard sing his bass parts. I wish that The Oakridge Boys would go back to singing and recording country music. Thanks for posting this video.

  • I Love Richard Sturban's Voice.

  • GREAT SONG:):):):):)

  • Pianocidal... Not trying to be rude but this song was released in 1982 from the oak ridge boys seventh album call Bobbie sue The White Strips where not formed until 1997

  • @deftittle800 The comment about the White Stripes doesn't really apply here, but I saw a special on DIRECTV last night where they performed their version of Seven Nation Army.....It was kind of funny.

  • @MVKirk go to page 2 and read Pianocidal's comment then you will understand

  • Where did the guy on the right get pipes like that? He doesn't have the frame for it, and it doesn't look like he's forcing it out there either. That is amazing.

  • @HHSGDFootballJPD Have you aver heard of J D Sumner and the Stamps Quartet? Richard sang with them in the 1970's when the toured with Elvis Presley. I agree that Richard dose not have the tipical look of a base singer.

  • Quick, fast and to the point. And who can't love the base voice? It sets up the chorus and drives the song!

  • B B B barbarque

  • LOL

  • @crankthatdawg HAHAHAHAHA i literally lol'ed when i read that

  • Ba-ba-ba-ba. 2nd and last top 40 pop hit for the Oaks.

  • ya got facts on the White Stripes massacre ? Peace, love and THE TRUTH

  • Although the tempo is a bit too fast, I love the Oaks, even when they massacre a White Stripes tune! Long live the Oaks!

Peace, love, and great bass singing!

    Pianocidal

  • How can they massacre a white stripes tune? this is long before the white stripes time. -.-

  • lovee it!!!

  • venom8343,

I don't know about those lyrics - I know there's a "Santa's Song" by the Oaks that goes, "All night long, I'll be singing my song, singing ho ho ho as I'm flying along." Is that the one you're thinking of?

  • this is one of my fav songs when i was little

  • wtg bobfordd thankyou for giving everyone a look into what i already knew.and that is what a great group the oak ridge boys are keep the posts coming god bless you bobfordd and your family

  • Hey! It's a supergroup of John Oats, Kenny Rogers, Dusty Gibbons, and John Travolta!

  • Yes, I do love the Oak Ridge Boys! What year is this from?

  • On another post, someone said this song came out in 1982, and I would guess it was around that time. If you would like to see what they look like now, check out the 2008 performance on MikeWX2's site. My husband went to school with William Golden (long beard) in East Brewton, AL.

  • I got a girl I like named Bobbi Sue...next time i give her a ride...im gonna play that song :)

  • Brings back alot of very good memories for me, go Oakridge Boy's!!!

  • One of my favorite songs from second grade

  • Why did you-tube delete the most recent version of this song?? from January 2008.

  • who is Richard Sterban?

  • The bass singer on the right.

  • @BOBFORDD the dude that does "bah bah bah bah" deal?

  • @cc12388 Wikipedia it....

  • Richard Sterban must have Formaldehyde flowing through his veins...he sang with Elvis, J.D. Sumner, and for the last 100 years the Oaks.....with the exception of updating his hairstyle every now and then the guy never ages

  • That's the second time you posted formaldehyde, we get it.....they're getting old.

  • just hope you look so young when you get old

  • I think everyone is missing the point. I meant my original comment as a compliment. Mr. Sterban has been one of my favorite singers for many years since I was a child.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • Richard Sterban is a stud.

  • and he knows it ;)
