no big secret...he sands the aluminum to remove scratches and pits then sands some more (till you get to around 600 grit) then buffs the aluminum using emory compound ...then the finer compound...its a pain...and an art...if you cant do it...i will...for a price.

Its polishing. I do the same thing once or twice a year. Plating is a total different procedure.
